    Hi Group:
I have a '91 TR and need to replace the rear tires. From my records I think the rears are the original tires, the fronts were replaced 8K miles ago. The back tires are Goodyear Eagle 255/50 ZR 16. Does anyone have a source for these tires, since I've been looking here in the Littleton area w/o any luck. I guess I could switch all tires to Michelin, but after Indy I don't think so. If you have any ideas I'm all ears.
    Thanks,
    Jim

I always buy tires from Discount tire, if they don't stock a tire size they can order it. The carry Goodyear. Great prices and selection. imo

You can also try Coker Tire.

    http://www.cokertire.com/

You may want to search the achieves; there used to be contact listed on FerrariChat from Coker.

Rear tires only last about 5k miles or so. The rears were replaced before the fronts. Your 8k milage is good. I put goodyears on mine and I would stick to the original tire if it is availabel. The tire characteristics may change your ride if you switch. It may be worth it to pay more to get them. Especially if you don't want to replace all 4.

I think you'll find that the Dunlop SP8000 is about the best performance tire that manufactures a matching set of front and rears for the TR. The rears at 255/50/16 and with a 10 inch rim is an odd combo in this day and age. If you want a matching set and look at rated specs the SP8000 is about the only performance choice. Most other 255/50's aren't rated for a 10 inch rim.

Why don't you step up to 17" and have a much better choice in tires.
I did it for my 91 TR with the new RONAL rims and beside the look changes I have better tires and a better handling car.
