I am replacing my Pirellis with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. The rear OEM's have been on backorder for months. The same size is available but not "Ferrari" spec. Does anyone have knowledge about whether there is a real difference or this is just a marketing ploy? FYI, the tire is 295/35 ZR20

Rear tyres for an FF or Lusso?
According to the Tirerack spec database, the ‘standard’ 295/30/20 has the same key specifications as the Ferrari K1 tyre although it’s slightly lighter.

The Mercedes and Porsche versions have a narrower tread width so it might be better to avoid those.

I’m sure that Il Co-pilota will be along to advise.

@Vegas CS Haha, no worries. I have time. Wifey is out with her friends and I have the home all to myself tonight:D

I would use this set. Same tread width as the OE shoes.

Like I always say, try to get a matched set. The NA0 set will also work.

There's nothing inherently different in terms of things such as quality etc. The K1 is obviously developed with Ferrari and thus have some small differences compared to the non-OE specific set. That said, Ferrari generally make small changes and it's not something most will even notice. The set in the link and the NA0 set for the 911 will perform very well too. I will say that the generic set will probably be slightly more sporty as both Ferrari and Porsche tend to dial in a wee bit of understeer into their tyres. I tried both the K1's and the generic set, and I actually prefer the generic. It just feels a bit more direct and on point.
