When is a hole not a hole?, when you convince the FIA that it's a slot and therefore not a hole, despite being able to see straight through it.

The original draft of the diffuser regulations was for a single diffuser with a maximum height of 100mm. Ross Brawn knew what the spirit of the regulation was (and warned the FIA of the possibility of the regulation being exploited), and then went ahead and exploited it for himself.

What I find really funny though, is that the people who praise Ross Brawn for utilising a loop hole in the technical regulations whilst at Brawn GP, are the very same people who slate Ferrari for using a technical loophole to justify " illegal height" bargeboards in the past and for using perfectly legal team orders in order to win races and World Championships. It's quite remarkable how it's being clever when it's for Brawn GP, and cheating when it was for Ferrari!.
