That's what I'd think, no seatbelt. Drivers seatbelt is siting idly on the side. Means that it was removed by the occupant or if they were wearing it I'd suspect they would have cut him out of it.

Blood on driver seat, but not driver airbag. Passenger airbag has blood on it. If the driver was ejected because of no restraining device, then the blood on the driver seat must have come from the passenger, which is plausible.

Anyone but myself wondering why the parking brake is engaged? Strange.

They put the tire and part of the suspension still attached it it right on top of the leather seats. I hate to sound cold, but that will really ruin the seat. I have seen this a lot with crashed cars, where the interior is ruined because the wrecker guy filled the car up with worthless pieces of the car; i.e. bumpers, wheels, etc. Thus punching holes in and destroying the interior, which might have found a nice home somewhere else.

Last random comment; What is hanging from the driver airbag? Looks like a prosthetic Eye.

I just hate this stuff. But in reality it far more rare than the RIP section on my BMW S1000RR site. That gets updated all too frequently.

    RIP

When the crash seat belt tensioners fire and the seat belt is not being worn, it ends up just like that, tight against the side of the seat.

If the seat belt was in place, it would not retract after the tensioners fired and would be loose.

Too bad, looked like the car did its job and dissipated a lot of energy in the crash.

Ah. I was wondering about that.

Stupid. Absolutely stupid. Looks survivable if he'd worn his seatbelt.

Driver could have been ejected, either way the cut the driver door off. You can see where they got purchase points on the "A" and "B" pillars to get the door open and then cut it off.
No seatbelt and sudden deceleration = death.
    Sad to see.
