Well I know it is totally a sense of preference but I am shopping a few options here and need a bit of guidance. I want something raw, engaging, and within a specific price point (200-230k) CAD.

    1) 2010-2012 458 coupe...
    2) 991.2 GT3 2017
    3) Aston Martin V12 (MT) 2017

The thing I like most about option 2 and 3 is the customization of it all, I get to pick my colours etc. and I like that. The thing I like about 458 option is the obvious stuff, V8, mid engine, engaging, Ferrari etc. My only concern with a 458 is the space to fit golf clubs, I don't always have them in the front seat but its not a deal breaker. If you had to pick something to compliment the FF what would you chose in my shoes.

Definitely not the Aston. It's been around for so long and the new ones cost $200k yet look almost the same as a used 40k one.

Will the .2 GT3 be NA or turbo? If turbo, then id go with a 458. If the GT3 still is NA and manual, then id go with the GT3.

I own an FF, just bought a 488 and I hv a 911 Turbo , which I might sell due to the fact that I have a 488 and its just amazing....if u want to go Turbo then go for a 488 if NA then the GT3

My thought was to add the 488 to the GT3 at some point. The wait on the 488 here is SOO long, 2 years, so I have time. Love my FF, it may be a keeper for life unless the GTC pulls me in.

for me it needs to be a manual car. I would choose a 355 Berlinetta (just look at it - I'd try to lighten it, proper seats, carbon brakes etc.) or a 997.2 GT3 RS (mezger engine) and take the wing and the stickers off

For me the choice would work out in two tiers:

    1. Does this car need to be a Ferrari- because Ferrari for me stands apart from the others. My answer is likely yes.

    2. Then I would look around at various 458 iterations and I would likely go with the 458 Speciale if budget allows as the FF is a great GT type car- might as well go for the bonkers one...

If I could only have one, at that price range, it would be a 2011 Porsche GT3RS.

Never owned one and am a serial Ferrari buyer but if you can get a 991.2 GT3 then it's the way to go IMV. Mainly because it will hold value brilliantly well and I think there is an added 'emotional' appeal to a car when you spec it yourself and are the first owner/driver. Also, a GT3. Not too shabby is it?

Perhaps a counterpoint is if you have never owned a mid car. They are quite special and are my favourite layout, even though I have had (and still have) 911s and love the uniqueness of the rear engine layout. In fact, if you have had neither before then it might be evens.

Since you already have Ferrari and you experienced all wonders of V12, GT3 could be very useful as completely different beast against FF. Also GT3 is amazingly accepted car so it will keep its value very well.

Thanks all, find out tonight that the 991.2 GT3 will be most likely be pushed back as a 2018 model, much to long for me to wait - but I still want one! In the mean time I am going to see how the 458 market does in summer/fall and see if I can muster up a few more dollars for the fun fund and add a 458. The market is just so hot and strong for this V8 here in Canada, unreal!
