US versions have the long F/R bumpers, Euros are much smaller. Usually the front spolier is a feature too, although some US owners install the spolier or swap out the US bumpers for Euros. Also the passing lights and F horse are Euro trademarks. Click on my profile to see a Euro. Interior gauges are a giveaway as well, US v. Metric.

The bumpers (euro's are much smaller) the front turn signal lenses (euro's are either amber and clear or all clear), the speedo in MPH (although that could and probably would be converted), the side marker lights (smaller on the euro's)...there are lot's of little clues if you know what to look for.

It looks like a lot more than a weekend job that's for sure. Wires are suspect throughout the dash it looks like. Also missing a lot of little items like the front grill, a side marker lens, levers and knobs on the console, lighter....

Seats and carpet are also shot, all I see are $$$$ adding up!!

    MMMMMmmmmmmmm, , got me thinking.

It was built in July 1977, , so I expect a rough example, if it were driven. (Don't want a garage queen.)

Wires are easy on a 1977, no magic, , apparently just a lot of smoke. (wink) ,,,,,, so that falls out of the equation..

next, it's a GTB. Better car then GTS.

    So, , , , , , , maybe.

If this is the worst angle of the car, , missing light,,,,, , I see all panels and gaps correct, very few dings... Seems that this car was cared for.

Is it Love, , , or is it just infatuation..

A year ago I think most everyone would have said run, or not over $10K. But with prices fluctuating upwards recently, its hard to say now. I notice it looks like it still has the original US exhaust and muffler screen in back, but its also missing the airpump. Mileage means absolutely nothing, could just as easily be 137K, have to go on condition. You know you could easily hot wire it and hear it run, etc.... Don't look like a bad car once the wiring is fixed if you can get it reasonable. But what is reasonable today? Its high enough now to really need to know the engine condition before going higher.

This is what an '85 euro looks like. Note tiny front bumper, clear lenses on turn signals and deep spoiler (optional). Rear has no exhaust cover, smaller bumper, some euros have red rear fog light also below bumper. This car was federalized so it has the larger rectangular side marker lights. This is not the stock exhaust. Stock is more rounded and doesn't extend as low as the cats currently on the car.

    That's actually:

F106AB (Frame designation) followed by *XXXXX* which is the five digit vin.

Aside from the extreme protrusion of the North American version bumper mounting the front has an irregular lower surface as "push blocks" with the grill cut out for them accordingly.

LOOK! ON THAT CAR! It still has the original muffler shroud! LOL!

That indicates the original thremomuffler usually, and is a good indicator of a fairly unmolested example.

The broken side indicator missing the lens indiscate US DOT compliance as well....Anything else?

Not as clean as that blue one last month (those wheels! Minus $2K!!).

Note Impacto's euro has the straight front (fibreglass lightweight) bumper, dual tone white/amber turn lenses and lower driving lights....all World market vs North American indicators.....

My advice? Pass.........that burned wiring loom he shows is the main one to the relay'fuse blocks and WAY more of them are scorched than the ones to the ignition.

Speaking of ignition switch? No longer available over $2,400 USED.

Cracked windshield, trashed interior, oh my, let me count the ways this car will bankrupt the uninitiated!

"Bid with confidence" with the word confidence mispelled! He'd better call Trutland's to pick it up, my guess is that baby will roll no more!

I wonder if he'd sell me the speedo only, since it's already out......that's the correct mileage for 22127 as well.....

Wow! I needed a combination switch for the first car, NLA and found a whole column on eBay. It came with a good key switch. I never believed they could cost over $700, but UK had three. I thought "ya know, those are gonna get expensive, I should buy all three!" Yeah, I passed on the idea. @%@**!@&@*!

There was jut one on eBay but I think it was broken. If yours is busted try Palo Alto Speedometer. They should be able to fix it cheaper than a new one!

Look for private individuals..(not to knock the dealers)......I tire kicked on one that was pretty nice I'll see if I can find the guys number, don't hold your breath. looking at my files right now!

A red/black steel with Boxer trim, missing books, missing tools, and the no longer available headlight switch was wonky, it would need repair....

He was FIRM on $29K a year and a half ago, see how that sounds better all of a sudden?

PM carreaper about it, he also talked to the guy, maybe he has the number...in Colorado.

There are some REAL nice ones lurking on here in collections, they are NOT selling if that tells you anything! ;)

I want a '76 Euro glass dry sump GTB in any color as long as it is black. Don't see many of those around.

I have also been tooling with the idea of a beater GTB or GT4 to build a track car. (Would prefer a GT4 because I don't have one of those yet.) This fried electrical car could be a could beater track car if the price was right and you were going to gut the interior and rewire it anyway.

But I think if I did either of those things, I would be short a wife and kids.

    B-TEX,

I am in Colorado at least once a year. (property and family)
I am willing to look at any pile of 308 parts.... in any shape basket.

I believe I saw a 365 gt 2+2 with a V8 in it, for 19,000 usa. I could drop in a 400i engine (I know where one is, , it only needs a head.), with carbs and really have a Ferrari....

(is our hobby crazy or what...?)

308GTB's are my favorite, , , but Mondial cabs are nice too...

    HELP...!
