    Banderson,

Prepare to be bashed by bring up this question again.

If your serious about a purchase you should test drive them both and decide for yourself. Everyone else who has an opinion worth anything will have done this.

I would prefer the 6 speed but the salesman said that I should get the F1 because it is the way of the future. So by your comment it's a 50/50 deal.

More cars are being designed with shifting on or behind the steering wheel. Who cares? Have you driven both? Get what you want not "the way of the future".

    BTW- I've got F1

i have driven both extensively in the 360.... both are great fun.... the 6speed is more engaging to me because i love to use the clutch and shift lever..f1 allows quicker shifting but still feels too much like an auto tranny to me- not enough driver activity, which is what ferraris are about.....also, i worry about long service issues with the f1, which could get to be very expensive in the future... also the f1 tranny will con t. to be improved in the future, perhaps making the current generation obsolete....and 6 speeds will become increasing rare in the future, possibly increasing it s value years forn now....just my 2 cents...btw... make sur e you get a tubi or tubi like exhaust... makes it sound much better !!!!

Good luck, but some words of advice from somebody that has a 12 year old son.

Don't worry to much about other peoples' spelling and verifying that everybody is who they are or actually going to buy a 360 or not ... only draws attention to yourself.

I suggest you soak in all the knowledge you can ... but remember not everything you read is true, so if necessary get a few more opinions and make your own one. When I was your age I read and read and read my fathers books on motorsport over and over and over again until I could just about memorise the text ... I also drove my father mad with questions ;)

Thus keep on top of your school work (the first step to success is to try your best at all challenges) and one day hopefully you will get that Ferrari or maybe something even more important like a lovely wife and family.

I purchased the F-1 355 and never regretted it.
I love the accuracy EVERY time.8700 rpm shifts in sport mode are
    INCREDIBLE!!

If I wanted to mis-shift here and there I'd get the 6 spd.
I'll pass on the old fashioned gated junk (no offense but I HATE
mis-shifts,they always seem to happen at the worst times)

    Banderson,

Like many others who have already stated, i would firstly search and read up on F1/manual threads within this forum as there is loads of VERY useful opinions and thoughts from owners of both here.

Second i would test drive both thoroughly ;-) and see what you prefer. Finally, you should ask yourself how, where etc etc you will be using the car as well as considering the fact the F1 is slightly more expensive (if it is an issue).

    Hope that helps.

Unless you are handicapped (ie: you don't have use of your left leg) then get the 6 speed. Don't let the salesman talk you into the F1 if you prefer a manual-you'll regret it.

The F1 box over time will be a headache.

If you like headaches, get that one........

The last broken by the side of the road 360 I stopped to assist in my ratty 308GTB was an F1......20 miles out from a dealer repair!

But the doctor worked at: The Pain Clinic.

    So there ya go..........

I'd get a manual. F1 may be the future, so what better time to be getting a new Ferrari when they are still being made with manuals, eh? Save some money, too.

Your nuts if you go for the 6 speed. I have owned both and now drive a 2004 360F1 Spider. It is a world of improvement over the 6 speed. While it is true you are more active using a 6 speed the paddles in the F1 allow to concentrate on driving and the fun is in conquering the road and not playing yourself.
