OK, I've finally got the car of my dreams (at least one of them), and now I am tormented.

To leave it stock - or not...my Pros & Cons are as follows:

    Stock:
    Pros
    - Its perfect the way it is.

    Cons
    - Hey, it looks like everyone else's.

Pimped (chrome wheels, lowered, carbon fiber, engine mods, exhaust)
    Pros
    - It would look cool to me
    - It would truly become my vision

    Cons
    - To mess with an original piece of artwork is almost sacriligous, I'd feel guilty.

Any thoughts? I'm looking for a consences of opinion.
    Thanks for your input!

Mr. Ferrari knew what was best and I cannot out thing him.

I can tall ya first hand, you wont get many thumbs up from anyone here talking about pimping out a Ferrari. The logic would dictate that the Ferrari is the thourobred among thourobreds, the leader of the exotic class, and, to alter it would be to claim it wasnt good enough on its own. All pimping it out is going to do is make the owner look more the fool.

However, there are some subtle things that can be done, and as long as they are fully reversible, will allow you to remain in good standing within the majority of opinion. Body kits are out, wings are taboo, as would be spinners, any chrome do dads, fart cans, funny driving lights, underglows, chain steering wheels, rediculous interiors, etc., But Ferrari-esque wheels of larger size, upgraded rubber, shocks, springs, brakes, sway bars are good upgrades. HP exhaust is always killer. The world seems to be coming on full bore right now with blower and turbo kits for the 3X8, so performance mods are do-able.

In the end, refrain from making something grotesque, and anything that cant easily be put back stock, as well as keeping all those stock parts for the future owners, and you should be allowed to run with the big dogs. Have fun.

Your F430 looks very nice mate. Congrats!! :):)
I.............would just lower it a little and add some big chrome 5 spoke wheels or black 5 spoke wheels? Also tint the windows dark as possible. That would look very nice IMO, yet not "over-done" which is what you dont want. :) I have seen a black F430 Spider with black wheels and it looked great. :) Either which way you decide to go about, please post some pics of your car. :)

    Well you were no help!

I do agree with no body mods like wings, spoilers, crazy paint. I do not want to give it the japanese tuner look at all. I was thinking of something tasteful in wheels (with ferrari center caps) but even this bothers me.

    Anyway, thanks for the input.

PAP - thanks for the response. I was actually think of black centers with chrome rims. I will definitely lower it to Euro specs (as Ferrari intended). Beyond that I'm not certain. Will probably try the wheels next.

    Thanks again.

Black wheels with chrome rim and yellow Ferrari centre cap would look hot. :) Lower it a little and it would look tough! :):)

Please please please... just not chrome. If you're looking for nice wheels for the F430 I think I haven't seen anything better than Novitec's 5spoke design - pure genius. I wonder what they would look like in black though. Black with black wheels is just such a sinister look :] The second link hasa black 612 on Novitecs, just to give an idea.

I agree, chromed wheels just never look good on Italian or German cars.

If you have a brand new F430, I find it hard to believe that you're seeing them everywhere or that people won't notice you enough. I'd leave it stock. If you had an Infiniti coupe or a Corvette, I'd say go ahead -- they're everywhere, I could see where you'd need to stand out. But, crap, you're in an F430...

Ferraris should be left stock cosmetically, adding chrome wheels and wings makes it look as if you are trying too hard for attention, stock just looks cool.

Mechanically such as exhaust, filters or other mods are more acceptable

    LuigiVee,
Congrats on the car! I don't consider chrome wheels pimping. I personally wouldn't lower a street Ferrari since it would only increase underbody scrapes.:)

Its your car that you paid for. Do what YOU want to it. For some, the stock car is perfect, others want something more. In the end, if what you do makes owning and driving your car more enjoyable, then do it.

    100000000000000000000 x Please, don't pimp the beauty!
If eventually you wanna change certain things, stick to the Scaglietti-program! At least, it's supported by F, adds value instead of taking it away!
Chrome wheels is the most vulgar stuff you can torture your 430 with, please don't!
Ferrari's home-sculptor Pininfarina made such a wonderful jewel! Customizing would be a massacre to the soul of your car!
Please confirm you won't do it, you'll give a very warm feeling to the most of enthousiast, all over the forum!

    Regards!

I say do what YOU want. If the car is better in your eyes with some modifications, go for it! Plenty of people do modify their cars, but the majority opinion here is to leave the cars as they came from the factory.
