To Sell or Not to Sell

I don't follow 348 pricing very close, but will tell you I sold my 89 328GTS for more than that 4 months ago...If you don't need the money I would say hold on to it until spring--then try to sell it..

 

Unless you are buying a 355, I would take 285's advice.....springtime!!

 

Goth is right if you are dumping your measly 348 for a much more powerful and greater in every aspect 355 - then go for it NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$48k is a steal for a spider. Most of the prices I have seen were in the $60+ range.

 

If your selling to a wholesaler then expect to sell it to him at a wholesale price.

Otherwise, attempt to trade and at least off-set the loss on a swap.

48k is a pretty good wholesale price ... and you are also dealing with the buying side of the spring house market, so the couple k's you will lose on the 348 wholesale selling price would be advantagous in buying a home now as opposed to the spring housing rush..

 

So what did you decide? I am looking for a good 348.

 

True, he could buy an upgraded deluxe four-bay garage and put the new minivan in any of several spaces.

 

If your car is in excellent condition, he will turn around and sell that car to a retailer for $58-$60K. The retailer will sell it for $66-$70K.

 

you guys are all talking asking prices vs. sales price- there is a difference....the $48K is real cash, the other numbers are asking prices and doen't take into effect time value of money (especially if he needs the money NOW for the house), advertising costs, aggrevation, or of course negotiation of price. $48k seems a little low, but it is cash from a wholesaler in the middle of winter, and weighed against the difference in the house price you'll still be ahead.

You could try one last ditch effort on ebay for the advertising and chance that someone will actually buy it on there to pick up a couple extra grand in the proceeds, & then if that fails after 7-9 days, sell it to the wholesaler...it will cost $50 to list on ebay- put in the ad the car is also for sale locally & you have the right to end the auction at any time...this way people will know it's OK to contact you to buy outside of ebay. I've contacted a couple of people off ebay on cars- I wouldn't do the sale through ebay (want to see the car, PPI, etc), but it's a good advertising medium if nothing else.
