I have been a Ferrari owner since 1986
Most individuals buy Ferraris for the way they look.
I buy them for the mechanicals, I am Airframe and Powerplant mechanic as well as a pilot.
I am a retired fighter pilot, so I compare most of the Ferrari's I have owned to aircraft I have flown or know of.
My first Ferrari was a 1984 308 GTB QV which I put over 100K miles on the car before selling it in 1997.
I bought the car from Sheldon Ferrari in Ft Lauderdale. The car was my F-86 fighter easy to maintain but lacked power. Only drawback horrible A/C system, other than that great car. Easy to maintain, I did my own work on the car. Belts, oil and coolant changes. Sold the car in 1997 after owning it for 9 plus years.
The car never left me anywhere, it was bulletproof.
I then bought my F-4 a 1993 512TR that came off lease, it had 10K when I picked it up from FAF in Atlanta. which I put over 110K on this beautiful car before I sold it last year to a guy who has been bugging me for my car for years. I did all my own servicing on the car. I owned that car for 24 years! Great car but it was like my F-4 that I did fly, big and a handful of car, and expensive to maintain. Just like the F-4 Phantom. I did my own work on the 512 TR as well.
My current Ferrari is the F-15, a 2003 575M that I bought in 2019, it had 26K on it, and it now has 64K on the clock. Its an F-1 gearbox. Its the only way to drive a Ferrari! This is the best of the lot in my opinion of the 12cylinder cars that i have owned.
as you can see by the miles that I have accumulated on Ferrari's.
This 575 is a lot like an F-15 it has its glitches with regards to caution lights that come on, that later on go away. With no consequences.
With over 200k of seat miles on several Ferrari models I find the extremely reliable.
I have had the 575 in subzero weather visiting family and the heater works fine!
and my daughter lives in New Orleans and we visit her in August where the heat index is 100 plus, the A/C puts out 45-degree air. Ferrari finally got this right!
So, these are my experiences with these great machines.
I wish all of you the same.

Not too many people can make those kinds of comparisons with authority! Thanks for sharing.
