At the risk of unleashing a whole tirade about FoW, I have a serious question of who there is working on classics these days?

    the link

    http://www.rmauctions.com/AuctionResults.cfm?SaleCode=MO07&SortBy=AL&View=Normal&Category=Cars&Currency=#

interesting to note that in relation to condition, the description only mentions a repaint and that is is largely original and the owner says it's "running smoothly". I'm no expert and i haven't seen the car, but it sounds like a redo is in the future.

Are the two cars you listed the actual cars at FOW?

Nice - white 328 in the background? :)

On another note, a Miura in that color (restored to perfection) just sold somewhere in the $900K's out here.

    495k for the 212 is a steal.

depends how much you put into it and how much all the fees are. my guess is before it's done it will be more like 750K.

I'd leave it alone and enjoy the pendulum swing we are experiencing lately that values cars w/ patina over hyper-restored cars. Make it roadworthy and leave everything else alone.

the car in the pictures is 0257EU - the fact that it was a Geneva Show car makes it one of a kind and vintage royalty.

I went the day after Christmas and saw the 212 in the shop and it looked pretty good except a few paint issues. It was what my eyes went directly to when I was back there.

I've never sensed great market enthusiasm for the 212 Inter cars. Perhaps that's changed. I love them, they're very driveable cars.

As for hyper restoration, there are of course other paths. I'll be restoring 0279EU in the next couple years and we'll do everything possible to get to the original materials, color, finishes, etc.
