Today I got my first acceptance letter into law school....Michigan State. Now I know its not an Ivy League school or anything, but it was the first school I've got an accept/deny letter from so I am very happy. I now have a place to go no matter if I get into any other school or not. It's just a huge weight off my shoulders that I have a place to go, so I am indulging in an 18 year old bottle of scotch in celebration.

Nothing wrong with Michigan State. I have several friends who graduated from Michigan State Law School as well as Cooley Law School. Congrats and good luck in your studies and remember above all else (if you DO attend Michigan State) S-party on! :D

Thanks Carbon. Just an update, I got my second acceptance today, with a $10,000 a year scholarship too, so I'm in an even better mood than before.

    Been there, done that......

Some things to keep in mind.

    1. After your first year of practice nobody cares where you went to school they just want performance. Unless you plan on being a slave in some 300 attorney firm take practical courses that teach you how to be a lawyer.

    2. Grades dont mean chit.... its what you learn. As the saying goes.... "A" students make law clerks, "B" student make associates, and "C" students make millions! I was a strong "C" student. Kinda funny when the top student in our class cant understand why he is driving a Toyota and I have a Ferrari...... hopefully he will never figure it out either!!!

    3. Watch out for the girlies outside of school. They all seemed be looking for a meal ticket and law students are a good source of income for years to come. Likewise, dont get married in school... there is enough stress already dont add the pressures of marriage to it.

    4. Dont get sucked into the competitive bullchit. I remember pages missing from text books in the library, false outlines circulating, and just bad info. Dont get tempted to participate in that crap.

Hey thanks for the advice man. I have brother-in-law thats a lawyer and a cousin in his second year of law school, so I got advice coming in from all over, but I do appreciate it. If you or anyone else has any more, I'd be very appreciative.
