Not many I'm guessing.. "the story" told by the announcer at the event this was the only one rescued from the plane graveyard and only because birds had got in and left half a ton of guano inside and they left this one alone.. until restorers got their chance to get their hands on it.
The Boomerang was a neat little airplane. About the only thing the allies had that could out-turn a Zero. Of course she was about 100 mph slower, but really well suited to how she was used. Tough as an old boot, too.
This collection flying together isn't something you see every day! Mustang, 2 x Spitfire, Sabre, Meteor and F/A-18. The F/A-18 held a very high nose up attitude the whole way around.. the whole group moved around amazingly slowly considering none of them are slouches exactly! There is that one in Australia (restored in Tucson) and another in 'Breitling' watch livery in Switzerland that's flying (also restored at Tucson). Another in TWA livery that flies rarely. There are several others that are in some phase of restoration, some supposedly eventually to flyable condition. Columbine II, President Eisenhower's plane, has been partially restored and on static display. That I know of.
