To add to the confusion: Are those times Sao Paulo times or your local time?

Don't they have a Super Duper Doppler radar? With all the tech today they still can't get it right on a consistent basis.....

If Silverstone is anything to go by .....you could bet your house on LH walking it.

But I agree uncertainty is reigning....;)

I do wish i could speak to Lewis just before the race and shake him hard. Shouting "STOP IT!! STOP IT!! STOP THINKING WHAT YOU ARE THINKING AND DONT TAKE STUPID CHANCES"!!!
In the rain he is great and i dearly want him to collect the title, but i cant stop thinking about this time last year and the silly mistakes that he needlessly takes when the pressures on. There is no pressure Lewis, just drive defensive and stay out of trouble.

last year he was a rookie...this year, no excuses. i can't imagine the same thing will happen (although i said that last year), but if it happens again, he should be shot.

And as one of his biggest fans it would be my duty to pull the trigger.......and then we have the stupidity of the pit teams and team strategies:rolleyes:

me too...read a quote from Bernie in a UK publication where he says basically the same as what you did - don't need to bust balls to the start, just hang back and make your moves....hopefully his set up is that for the rain.

    Carol

Happy Birthday Steve - hope your British pub is a great as the one we found outside Daventry in September for LMS race!

Sao Paulo is further east. And they went on daylight savings time on Oct 19. So Sao Paulo is two hours ahead of EST.
(A new law in Sep set standardized DST for Brazil. http://www.timeanddate.com/news/time/brazil-dst-2008-2009.html)

Noon EST is 2pm in Sao Paulo.

I think most races (other than Singapore) start at 2pm local, don't they?
    (The european races, anyway.)

And there's a forecast for rain/thunder at 3pm, although it's currently "sunny and mild", according to one site.

That's why I'm hoping for Lewis to lose this year. If he can get the message that he needs more brain and less ego behind the wheel, he'll have lots of championsihps --- and not just because his competition's team doesn't know how to fuel for a wet race.

If Lewis can control the red mist, he could become one of the greats. But if he wins despite all his stupid mistakes this year, will he really learn? The constant fawning by the brit press seems to be going to his head, and could ruin what might otherwise have been a great driver.

Massa has really worked for this one. But I keep remembering Monaco: Massa ran a brilliant stint in the wet ... and then the team loaded him down with the fuel load of the Exxon Valdez.

I believe the race starts at 3pm Local time (Sao Paolo) which is 5pm GMT or 12pm ET. The weather channel is predicting the chance of rain at 2pm as 90%, 3pm as 100%, 4pm as 90%... Hold on to your hats everyone - it's going to be a roller coaster ride!!!!!!

My bad -- they're two hours east, not one (plus one hour for DST).

So it might start under the SC after all.

The fans because it makes for a less predictable race. :)

Rain would favor Hamilton more than Massa, but then again, if it comes down hard, all bets are off.

PS: Glad to see you on here bro. With the championship at stake, this forum just might erupt into pandimonium today.

I don't think Hamilton's aero was configured for rain as of qualifying yesterday. Is this something that is basically set in stone for today or are they allowed to change it?

He actually may be running more wing, which explain his poor performance. We will find out soon!

He'd be in trouble: You can't change the rear wing or spring and shock settings. You can increase a bit of downforce on the front wing, that's about it.

It is raining right now in Sao Paulo and from the radar images, there are clouds over the whole area for many miles in all directions, so I doubt the weather is going to break.

They may/will likely start behind the safety car, which would be a huge boon to Hamilton.

    Will be interesting "for sure"

My pulse is already at 100. Hands are cold and sweaty. I might have to put a defibrillator next to the TV. :)

I should warn my neighbours about the screaming.
