After suggesting last weekend that Michael Schumacher had all the credentials to be team principal, when Todt was pressed about that comment he said he believes MS will never take the position as team boss. He spelled out the word n-e-v-e-r to make his point.

He went on to state that if Ross Brawn would be interested in the job that requires being in the office 10-12 hours per day, Ferrari would consider him.

Did the context imply that a) Schumacher doesn't want to be team boss or b) Ferrari doesn't want Schumacher to be team boss? The former would make sense, as Schumacher is more a hands-on guy and not a diplomat. The latter would be far more interesting, as it would prove that Machiavellism at Ferrari is even worse then we all assumed under the circumstances of Schumis retirement from racing.

It implied that Michael is not interested in spending 12 hours per day in an office solving problems. MS has stated this himself. He already has an office waiting for him at Ferrari, along with a new monogrammed driving suit, just in case he would like to jump in a race car.

I would have to believe that Ferrari could come up with a position designed specifically for Michael. That may happen if Ross Brawn returns, possibly that is the timing MS has in mind anyway.

    Thank you for the explanation.

That would have been my guess, too. They can't afford to lose such an allround-talent like Schumacher is. I hope Ross as well as Schumi will be back as soon as possible, maybe next season, whatever their functions may be then.
