I have a Dec 2008 Spider and a blue licence. Tokio Marine insurance wants 675210 yen (call it $7000) for daily-use insurance. Anyone have a cheaper alternative I should look into?

    Also paying 200,000 on a 2001 M5 which seems steep. ($2200)

Both cars in secure underground parking in central Tokyo.

Actually doesn't seem too expensive as I lived in Tokyo 6 years ago and paid about JPY 360,000 per year for a Toyota Altezza so F-car at twice the price seems very reasonable to me.
I got a big shock when I moved to New Zealand as I insure 997 Turbo, Cayman S and Cayenne Turbo for about half that amount for all three of them! Insurance in Japan is very expensive, I did find a bit of difference by shopping around various brokers but am out of the loop now.
