I remember seeing pictures of the Ferrari California spyder rebodied in period by Zagato to a design commissioned by Chinetti. Was
it Chinetti Sr, or Jr (aka Coco) ? I thought it was the younger that fancied himself as a designer? Also when Toly bought it, what did he pay? I heard 50K. Also many years later it was advertised on Sheehan's Ferrari Online--what price was it by then? I wonder how much it cost the new owner to build a replacement California body? I am guessing $200,000. This might
have pre-dated the availability of computer mapping an existing body, a method used in rebodying the
burned out Richard Teague California Spyder. Finally what is the value of a California matching numbers spyder today? 6 million, or am I waaaay out of touch?

The car reflected Zagato’s philosophy of the moment (1970-71) it means : styling with clean, strong lines on geometric volumes.
Stan Novack was (or is) the owner since a long time.

Stanley Nowak died in 1991. He did not own 2491GT but found/located it for long time owner Anotoly Arutunoff and is said to have been paid a finder's fee. 2491GT has been restored with California Spyder bodywork. I do not know who owns it now.

2491 GT was displayed in it's non Zagato guise at Salon Prive at Syon Park, London by Joe Macari on behalf of its owner a few years, ago, I cannot remember the year off the top of my head (2013-ish), although Marcel was there also. I have pictures at home which I'll post later if required.
