Just found this: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9205664/ He finally got what he wanted, out of the Dome, and to screw every Saints fan! Dave
I can understand the logistics involved in trying to give everyone a refund, but maybe they could have something where if you send in your ticket they could mail you a refund check. I was personally hoping they would come play at Tiger Stadium and then students would get to go for free, but I guess that'n not happening now.
I now live in houston, but lived in San Antonio during the late 80's. Benson is either from San antonio or still has family there. There was a reporter on tv name dKim Benson, that i was told was his wife. I never paid too much attention to such things, but I knew there was a connection. In all fairness, how can one expect anything else given the state of New Orleans? There is no way ANY game could take place there for the next several months.
Thats not the issue. The issue is not refunding money for a service that will never be rendered despite being paid for. Its garbage.
Official announcement comes in a day or two. http://www.nfl.com/tickets New Orleans 'aint's 504-731-1700 http://www.neworleanssaints.com/custompage.cfm?pageid=36 Single game tickets available now. To purchase single game tickets, call Ticketmaster at (800) 877-0898 or click here to buy tickets on Ticketmaster.com.
If someone paid for it via credit card, they can reverse the charges. Paying for services not rendered, and so with out even a prospect of it happening or being serviced is THEFT. He should have insurance, and that is his issue, I say if you had purchased even one ticket on a credit card, dispute it, and have it reversed. -A
Here is an official message from the Saints org. >>>> STATEMENT FROM SAINTS OWNER TOM BENSON September 6, 2005 The entire New Orleans Saints organization would like to extend its prayers and best wishes to all of our fans throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South region. We are currently working with the NFL and expect to be in a position shortly to announce the sites for our remaining 2005 home schedule. I have expressed my desire to the NFL to play games in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the extent circumstances allow. Saints ticket holders unable to attend home games, wherever played, should also be assured that they will be permitted to request refunds. Specifics of the refund policy will be publicized in the upcoming days. The New Orleans Saints look forward to the start of the NFL regular season this Sunday and to having the Club be a source of pride and joy in these difficult days. As we move forward together, the Saints look forward to serving as a leader in the rebuilding and revitalization of our great community. Towards this effort, the Saints have established the "New Orleans Saints Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund". Further information for those individuals/companies interested in contributing will be announced shortly. >>> Wait and see- OK?
I agree Paul, but I think it was also necessary for Benson to see the huge backlash he would get if he decides to be a greedy pig.
