    Noted Ferrari collector and vintage car racer Tom Mittler passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010. Mittler had a massive stroke at his lake home in Three Rivers, MI on June 10. The cause of death was apparently the stroke. Mittler was also a resident of South Bend, Indiana. Mittler was about 67 years old. Last time he was seen was at the Monaco Grand Prix Historique, where he raced an OSCA MT-4. He was a true enthusiast and will definitely be missed.     Strangely enough, I was going with a business accociate who was a close friend of Tom up to Elkhart to visit with him and see the cars and boats last Wed, June 9. The trip was postponed the night before as he had to make a quick trip to the Dr.

    How suddenly things happen in life...

    I had the pleasure of meeting Tom at Mid Ohio in the 90's where IIRC he was running a Maserati and had his XKSS on display in the paddock. He was a true gentleman and very gracious to a fellow enthusiast.
