Sorry if this is old news, but I just caught a cool show on The Science Channel which documents a day in the life of Tom. Pretty cool publicity... shows him and Freeman Thomas scouting around for barn treasures. Also highlights other resto gurus like Tillack and features David Sydorick's gorgeous Maserati Zagato Coupe, among a bunch of others.

Show is called Classic Car hunters and I think it airs again Sunday @ noon.

    Kudos Tom!!!

    I saw this too...

Neat show. Tom didn't look like I thought he would :). He appears much younger than I envisioned him! I guess I assume everyone playing with vintage ferrari's is .... well.... vintage ;).

Some of those old cars are merely scrap - unbelieveable that someone can make them whole again. You are essentially making a new car...screw by screw...

Tom - how much did you pay for that car that was dragged out of the garage??? I am assuming these must be quite the deal, in order to make financial sense to repair...

I just have to move to california one day. The only thing you find in a midwesterners garage is dead mice. Now why can't one of my neighbors have a rare, decrepit, ferrari in their garage... Oh to dream!

Tom is really 83 years old... He just looks really good from all the chemicals used in cleaning all those vintage Ferrari parts... :) :) :)

And with those smart comments on those who do vintage must be vintage... I did my first at 31... (I did look old - and after I was done in the vintage market - I did look about 55 as well)... That is why I had to get to the newer stuff - was making to old everyday wondering if Tom could find a part for me :)

Quite a bit. Asking price was $350,000. Didn't make financial sense. One buys great old Ferraris, because ones want them. I own the other one-off sister car, Vignale bodied 375 America 0337AL, I needed this car!! For the faint of heart, in accounting dept pencilling THE DEAL, 0313EU was missing over $100,000 worth of valuable unobtainium Ferrari parts. I had most of the missing components on the shelf.

How does it pencil, it didn't. But it's MINE !!!!!!!!

Tom - wouldn't it be easier just to buy the VIN, then build the car from scratch :)? Didn't seem like there was a lot to work with...

Either way, it was nice seeing an f-chatter in the limelight. When is the follow up episode?

I was a little disappointed to learn that Mr. Shaughnessy couldn't help me find a nice Amish barn, turn of the 18th century construction.

In Soviet Russia, you don't find the barn, the barn finds you!

Only missing $100,000.00 in parts? I am assuming this one came with an engine then?
