Hey!! We'll do this together then! I want to quit in the worst way..but I'm surrounded by smokers all day..I have one more smoke left in my pack and I'm thinking it going to be my last one. Reason? I cleaned the inside of the windsheild yesterday..and just about puked from the yellow crap that came off the windsheild glass, and I smoke maybe a half of a king small a day. I also drive with the window down. I was just about sick with it..I can just imagine what I have done to my lungs..IDIOT I am..just plain stupid..:(

Trouble is I enjoy it too much. That first time I'm out at the bar without a smoke I'm goodna miss it real bad.

I have talked to people that say they have found it easier to quit by switching to all natural cigarettes like Nat Sherman or American Spirit. The theory is that most cigarettes like Marlboro have extra chemicals that are addictive and going to a natural cigarette gets you off the chemicals and then it is easier to quit because the natural cigarettes are not as addictive.

I don't smoke cigarettes so I don't know how much difference is really there so....

I completelly agree with everything you said, the weekends will be the worse, out with friends (who all smoke) for a few beers, man this is going to be tough.

I only smoke when I drink (alcohol) its tough but I guess giving up is somehting we older responsible people have to do. I only go through a pack a week, but my Wife thinks its too much.

MMM, going outside to have a smoke and think about it.

    Good luck!!

The problem i think i would have is that i would still be smoking, i dont think it would take long before i would be back on the full strength ones.

I don't drink that much, plus my job is not conducive to having a gigarette.
If it was I would probably drink more and smoke more. Self discipline I guess.

Have to enjoy life why you have it!

It's easier to quit if you smoke american spirit, cause they taste like ****.... All cigarettes have nicotine in it which causes the addiction... it's what gives cigarette its flavor...

Again I don't smoke cigarettes so I do not know the details but I have been told that extra addictive chemicals are added to most cigarettes that are much more addictive than nicotine. Is any of this true?

I plan to quit in April (after a vacation- when I have a thirty hour plane trip that should give me a head start). There is a drug you can take that I understand you have to start taking a month to two months prior to your quit date- I forget the name but I understand it really helps. I've tried before (even the hypnotist thing) and been unsuccessful but will see the doctor and will quit this time. I just turned 51 and have been smoking a pack a day since I was 16 or so. It's time.

My only advice would be see your doctor and seek his advice. Good luck!

No, the chemicals are added so the cigarettes burn more efficiently.... natural cigarettes like american spirit don't burn well at all, and often go out if you just let it sit for a while...

I have seen my doctor today, i also tried to give up the same time as Collette, i lasted 4 days :( , i would imagine living in America it should be easier, i believe you are not allowed to smoke in any public places.
