"Automaniac: Supercars" @ 10:00 PM EST. The preview had an Enzo, some Porsches, Saleen, and a McLaren F1.

I've been watching this show. It's pretty interesting. I liked the one on Gangster cars. I just wish Goldberg knew how stupid his big head looked in those little tiny sunglasses. It cracks me up everytime.

Does anyone else like the History Channel as much as I do? I find myself watching almost daily.

Yep- especially during the summer.. I spent 2 hours watching a documentary on Alcatraz and the federal prison system- as well as the chicago mafia circa the '20s.. Can't get enough!

Have been seeing commercials all day for this show- it seems to be a MUST WATCH for all car enthusiasts as they're showcasing the McLaren F1 (as previosly stated) as well as the Enzo and Gallardo.

Interesting, but with shows like this... someone tell me why oh why do they have the 1) static cam and 2) the drunken intern cam. Just unnecessary.

Pretty decent show. Their stats are some of the closest to reality i've ever heard on tv, except for the Mclaren only being worth $500,000. I wish! But he seems like a real enthusiast, getting excited around the cars and truly appreciating them.

The show was pretty good, though I really don't care about the "supercars" from the 1920s. They said the F40 does 0 - 60 mph in 4.2 sec. They're about a second off. Mentioning the Koenigsegg CCR at the end was pretty cool.

Looks like you weren't watching close enough-- they said it was $500k more than the original sticker price of $1m- that it was selling for a premium.

I enjoyed it- will definetly Tivo next weeks show..

Caught a few clips on the F40 and then the Saleen S7.

    Who was the presenter?

That was kinda cool. Lots of F-cars decorating the background. I didn't know much about Steve Saleen, so I really liked the last part.

    Ditto the Yellow Enzo.

He is one of our customers, very cool, chill guy, as the show showed him to be.

What's the story on that "supercar party?" Are those guys other owners, and they were doing some car swapping, or what? Or did all cars on the track that day belong to Metzler?

The F40 was his as the Enzo and the F1 was. He has a very nice collection, and I am understating that.

They still haven't got that high. They are trading around 1 - 1.3

In fact, they have gone down on "original" sticker price:

What cost $1275000 in 1994 would cost $1627560.68 in 2005.

850,000GBP = $2,275,000 aprox. in 1993. Calculation based in exchange rate of 1.5 which is still high (exchange rate in Jan 1995 was 1.42)

Now, the price would be accurate if it included buying the car AND getting it converted to meet US standards. Clifford bought his car from Mario Andretti (i believe) and so he wouldn't have had to pay these fees. Mario however, bought the car from Japan (once again, this is what i believe) and so he would have had to pay it.

So basically its about 1.4 - 1.6 to buy the car and import it. Best bet is to buy a car already here. Anything can be bought for the right amount of money... at least 2 mclarens have changed hands in the US recently.

Yeah, I didn't get to see it but heard that he was on with his TR!

    Hope they do a re-run.
