I have tubi style mufflers on my 575 and it's too loud for me. Anybody have stock mufflers (rear) for sale or swap? Any other ideas? Thanks
David, I posted a similar thread weeks ago. I feel your pain. The previous owner of my 575M installed early 550 Tubis which are very loud and the drone inside the cabin in unbearable to me after 30 minutes or so. I suggest you first find out what Tubi exhausts you have. The 575 Tubis came in loud and ‘regular’ versions. I don’t know how the two are distinguished, but the 550 Tubis are stamped as 550s and they are very loud. I will exchange my 550 Tubi exhaust for the quieter 575 Tubi when I get around to it. Seems you can get used ones for about $2k. I am looking for someone to do a swap - most people seem to want the extra rumble of the loud exhausts.
If you choose to put your car back to stock and be correct part number wise be advised there are several stock silencers divided between the 550, and early and late 575 versions. They all will bolt up and function properly. The later 575 version likely flows the best but not by much. Should you go out into the used market place to purchase be sure you are getting a matched pair. Each silencer has a part number on it. Correct part numbers for application used to be noted on Ricambi’s site and may still be. Otherwise the info is in the archives here. Bill FL
Maybe consider Fabios valved mufflers. I have his full exhaust system and it's awesome with the valves open or closed (no droning) and I'm sure he would sell you just the mufflers with the electric valve controller.
The way to go for sure. The drone is almost always a problem under 2500-3000 rpms. Fabio’s mufflers have the same vacuum actuator, so it is easy to put on the rubber hose to those mufflers so they will work just like befor even without buying a valve controllen. The thing with his mufflers is that they are very quiet when closed and not quiet at all when open, so the car can cruise comfortable also at higher speeds up to 100 mph, with the valves closed, but when you accellerate properly, they open and you get good sound. And they look good too with the HGTC style end tip.
I could only swap to original mufflers from the 550, I have 2 sets to them. Don't know if this would be an option. Daniel
Fabio’s look like a stock Maranello HGTC muffler. His workmanship is excellent. Should you ever choose to add the rest of his system you would already have the mufflers. Bill FL
Fabio is very easy to work with! His workmanship is simply amazing. These are going on my 575M Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Paul- My 456 has what I believe to be 1st generation Tubis. They are a little too loud for my taste. I will PM you about a possible swap.
Fabio's mufflers arrived last Friday and today is the first chance I have had to inspect. His packaging is as good as his work! I can hardly wait to install them. I also have his "H pipe" which looks like some kind of art work. Image Unavailable, Please Login
