are u including finished basements in the sq footage? 15K with basement is a nice size...15K without the basement (just the 2 floors) gets kind of big...if u plan on furnishing it the right way it can easily take you 3 or 4 years and another $1M bucks.

i have 9000 sq ft with my basement (2800) and its plenty of room for a family of 4. 12,000 with the basment would prob be the biggest i went.

I wasn't including a basement, where I want it (Cali) basements are pretty rare.

    Space, the final frontier...

Get nice view - locate large window at said view. Lounge on Minimalist, yet comfortable furniture and admire said again view.

Do NOT put bowling pins there.

I heard Russell Simmons speak once, and he said something to the effect of - yea, my house is big, but I can only sit my a** in one place at a time! 15K is nuts. I know someone with a 30K square foot house, and his MONTHLY maintenance costs are $100,000+.

Nah, bowling. That would be pimp. Drunk chicks + bowling alley in your house = STRIKE!

I'm a big house fan too. There's a kid here on F-chat who's parents house is one of the most bad ass houses I have seen in Houston. It's totally my style. If I had a pick of any house of any size in Houston, I'd pick his....

i guess it depends on the floor plan. When we were looking at houses we saw two that were about 6k -- one was open, and one simply had too many walls, so it made the space look a _lot_ smaller than it was. I guess it also depends on your location, too, as there aren't any extraordinarily huge houses out here in the desert. 15k is huge.

I said it had nothing to do with the $15, it was about the way it was handled. I paid the $15 within minutes, so please...

I'm not sure why it's being sold, the guy just built it in 2001. It'll be a tough sell.

He had a pipe organ built in the place. He had an insurance company he sold and I guess he just wanted the biggest house around. He doesn't really seem like he fits in the place. And yes the commission if you only get one end is .5mil. YES.
