This topic will not be well written. It is too emotional, too close to my heart for clarity.

Can we clean our Ferraris too much? Might we ruin us with their excessive care?

I am NOT referring to the controversy of "polish" vs. "patina". Each camp has its own champions and its own merits. I am speaking of something much deeper.

What respect do we give to our Ferraris that they are a part of this universe, and therefore, subject to all the laws of this universe, including entropy? One day, no matter how much care we take, they will no longer be. How does that affect our care for these cars which we love?

Look at the photo of this car below, for example ( photo is c and courtesy of www.***************.com). Sometime in the future, when the metal no longer exists under its weight of polish, the plastic has perished under is layers of perservative, the leather has worn to where there is nothing but soap, can we let these things--go?

There was a 330GT (I think, not 2+2) that was a light blue colour and a museum car where eventually the paint was polished through because the cleaner simply loved the car.

So yes we can wear them out through over cleaning. Would never happen to my cars though ... :D
