I took an intro Nikon Digital SLR class at the Santa Fe Workshops in New Mexico. It was a great week-long class. They normally do higher-end training but they offer intro classes every once in a while. My instructor was Scott Frier. Great guy. He is into wildlife and underwater photography. For years, he was the chief expedition photographer for Jacques Cousteau (and later his son Jean-Michel Cousteau). Now that was an interesting set of pictures to see at the end of the week. If you're not familiar with Platon, he does some amazing protraits of celebrities and politicians.
