Finally got my title from the bank and was able to register and insure my 348. Only drove it to work 7 miles but it was still fun. Got a lot of looks in this thing.

Nice! I got mine last week, first real drive was Saturday and it feels great to great to take a spin in "my Ferrari".

Seven miles is barely a start - at least with the 328's they get happier when they're totally warmed up. Plan a nice drive away from traffic and you'll have permanent smile lines by the time you get back.

It gets a LOT of approving looks. I think people know it's not stupidly expensive because it's older, but the nostalgia aspect outweighs the snob aspect that I felt in my BMW and Porsche.

Call it an "upgrade" of sorts from my BMW 635. I get lots of approving looks and it's relatively cheap right now. But looking for something more in the future. Plus, as one of the BMW board folks puts it, you grin like a "sated baboon". Is that what you guys get from the Ferrari?

    Congradulations Michael.
As Tom Petty said, "the waiting is the hardest part".
Its nice to know another Ferrari is in the area - well OK, you are about 45 minutes away from me, but our paths may cross!
I am hoping I can find a 348 Spider soon so I can be on the road for the spring. I am having to wait for the right car to surface (you did too - I saw your posts). My issue is that I want a 348 Spider in a subdued color, A darker metallic blue would be perfect... I have seen several other Ferraris for sale in that color (Mondial T cabrios and F355 Spiders) but never a 348 Spider. One day I may just throw in the Towel and buy a red one, there are plenty of those for sale!

Well, I hope I look better than that. But it's true you never forget what you're driving, and as good as my BMW was the Ferrari symphony behind your head has you looking for 5000+ rpm every chance you get.

Can't argue with red, but given the amount of attention my car gets even in a subdued color (black met.) I'm extremely happy that I went the non-rosso route. I like how it sneaks up on people and takes a second before the shock-and-awe kicks in. I'd guess Michael is going to have to get used to being the center of attention - which isn't all bad!
