Took the F12 to the track today. I did not want to wear either my tires or brakes, so we took it pretty easy in braking/cornering. Notwithstanding that, this is one fast car! And from outside, or with the windows open and the sound bouncing off the retaining all, the sound above 6000 rpm is out of this world. (Closest thing to a F1 sound of any car I have ever owned). Acceleration down the straights and in the short chutes was amazing. Even though I was taking it easy in the corners and hence my corner exit speed was quite slow, I was able to achieve by far the highest velocities at the end of the straights that I have ever reached, and by a meaningful margin (compared to my 458, GT-R, Z06, ZR1, Porsche Turbo). In fact. Things happen so fast in this car, that you find yourself all of a sudden saying holy crap, it is time to brake!). That actually happens a lot, because the acceleration and the sound is so addictive, that you do not want to interrupt the adrenaline flow from the acceleration to brake for corners! The car does feel pretty big and heavy compared to the 458, and less nimble; it seems to lean a bit more, but it feels very stable and secure, and once it takes a set in the curves, it holds it very well. It makes you drive more thoughtfully and smoothly than the 458 because things seem to happen much faster, and the car takes a bit longer to react to inputs. The transmission works very well, and shifts very quickly on the track.
