Finally got an original jack kit for my 1979 308GTB, where does it store in the car, it seems like I should have some straps somewhere in the rear luggage area, or is that for a tool kit?

    Photo anyone ?

The original jack comes in a pouch just like the original tools and both straped together against the back panel in the rear trunk.

It depends on the year of the car actually, you are correct the jack bag goes in the LH rear trunk held by the bracket mounted rubber strap, vertically..

Many early Owners Manuals show the tool roll up in the front trunk nestled in the spare tire which bolts in mounted face down.....IIRC..

Keeps them from rusting, and improves front/rear weight bias....;)

I have my books out for something else, I'll look this evening.. I actually keep them all (3 sets) on the floor of my apartment kitchen as they are now too valuable to travel with the car...;)

LH? Is that for the carb cars? In my US QV it is on the right side. Although I didn't think the jack kit would fit into the spare. I like that idea better. I'll have to try it out once the car is back from the body shop.

    Thanks for the idea.
