I have recently bought a 512TR and it comes with a leather tools box which despite the dirt it is still in a good condition.
So I am curious whether you guys leave it in the bonnet or just take it out?

I keep my tools in my garage, as if I have an issue, I will just AAA it.

I keep them in a closet with the Schedoni luggage. I bought a spare tow hook though to keep in the car

If you have good mechanical skills and can diagnose Ferrari problems, I would say bring it with you in the car just in case. That way maybe you can save some money. It's probably not all that light though...

Are those tools any good? The tools that came with my Lotus are junk. I carry some tools with me that I can actually use! If I had a Ferrari, seeing how much those tools bring on the market, I'd keep them at home.

The Tools that came with my Lotus actually have a hard case and might be usefull if I need to change Plugs or use a screwdriver.

Then they must have upgraded. Mine are 33 years old, and don't look like they were too swift when new! I don't even carry the jack.

I bought a heavy duty tool bag from the Depot and keep the orginal tool kit / jack etc in it, plus additional tools, oil, fix a flat, etc. It fits nicely in the nose of the bonnet.

I've always kept the tools right in the front of the car, I'd feel pretty silly calling AAA because I have a screw loose (some people might say that I have several loose most of the time) and no screw driver in the car. For any work I do at home I've never used the tools in the kit; I have other tools that are better suited for real work.

Take that can of "fix a flat" out of the tool kit, put it somewhere safe so you have all the original parts. Then go out and buy a new can from an autoparts store. If you still have the original can, it's more than 10 years old and it won't work any more.

I keep my tools in the car, it belongs there.
I also carry spare parts like alternator/water pump belt, distributor cap, fuel pump, spark plugs and relays. I never had to use this "safety stock" on the road in 20 years, but helped few times to other stranded 308 owners.
In otherwords, when deciding what should you carry in your car, think sometimes of others who have the same passion and might need some help.

Keep it in the car. I would suggest you add a can or two of "fix-a-flat", a fire extinguisher, and a AAA card. Cause you never know...
