    No particular order:

Radiohead - The Bends(Well any of their albums actually)

Pink Floyd - Anything, but I think Animals & Pulse are my favorites. Incidentally, Battersea Power Station, the iconic power station on the cover of Animals is being turned into lofts, entertainment and office space. Check out http://www.thepowerstation.co.uk/.

Blue October - Consent to Treatment

Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile/Halo Fourteen

DJ Danger Mouse - The Grey Album(Lyrics from Jay-Z's "The Black Album layed over sample from The Beatles "The White Album")

Outside of that give me Massive Attack, Nina Simone, Elvis, Ben Folds, Incubus, Grandaddy, Townes Van Zandt, Bill Withers or a few others and I am a pretty happy guy.

It is sad that some of you young guys have not been exsposed to good music, since MTV ruined it. There is very little music in the last 10-12 years that will even be remembered in 30 years. Brittany Spears will just be another Tiffany. There just aren't any bands like The Door's, Led Zepplin, Pink Loyd etc... It is really just sad when you see the Grammys and 95% of the people getting awards are terrible musicians. But boy they look good in their videos. LOL.

    The Nightfly - Donald ***en
    Level 42 - Level 42
    Gaucho - Steely Dan
    Hold Your Fire - Rush

There are another 20 or so that would compete for the last slot.

It's not that there isn't great music available, it is that is simply over powered by the cookie cutter teeny-pop bull****.

Radiohead has been amazingly successful and cranks out some truly great music, but they have managed to not ever fall victim to the whole Bentley's and Benjamins lifestyle. Lots of the best bands around these days, the ones that could readily be seen as modern day equivalents to the doors, Zepp. and Pink floyd are one's that you never hear about. I mentioned Grandaddy in my post. Their music is very different from anything else around right now. I don't know exactly why but I love it. And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead is also great and very few people know about them outside of TX.

The problem is that these days, the cream cannot rise to the top as their is a 2 inch thick layer of solid crap above it. But, just like anything else in this world, as long as people continue to buy crappy products, companies will continue to produce them.

    But yeah, I'd do Brittney.

    Twice.

On that note off to bed...I'll see if I can dig up some interesting bands when I am work tomorrow(I work across the hall from Universal Music) for everyone to check out.

Napolis and I have very similar tastes but I'll add:

    Beatles- Abbey Road
    Dylan- Blood on the Tracks
    Stones- Exile on Main Street
    Jethro Tull- Stand Up
    B. Springsteen- The Wild, the Innocent and the E-Street shuffle

    On the classical side:

    Gershwin-Porgy & Bess
    Tchaikowsky- 4th Symphony
    Copland- Appalachian Spring
    Beethoven- 6th Symphony
Borodin- In the Steppes of Central Asia

Eminem, 50 cent, Britney et. al are not without talent (well maybe Britney is) but come nowhere near most other music either in quality or volume of output IMO.
