Check the sensors (#16 and #40) and make sure they are not getting actuated too early due to an alignment issue or something.

Try using the emergency switch and see if it works fine with it. This bypasses all of the other electromechanical stuff. If it does work with it then you can start focusing on what sensor etc is not functioning properly

Common issue. The elastic is worn out for the second bow and it gets stuck under the first bow when putting the top down. Ensure that when you first push the first bow backwards the second bow also folds backwards rather then under the first bow. It will work fine. Any upholstery shop can make new elastic straps for it.

I think since the seats start moving back like the cycle is complete, one of the sensors must be indicating that the cycle is complete.

The shop who did mine recommended using a small, about 3/16 shock cord doubled rather than elastic. They said it will last much longer without stretching to 'uselessness'. To my eye, it doesn't show.

I have since gone manual, and it goes down easily, but takes one person on each side of the car to go back up. (Nothing to do with the elastic.)

have you tried giving it a little motivation? I had a similar issue.
I re-aligned the top (really, i just messed with it till it wanted to go up/down without getting caught). To me, it's seems more aligned.

Before re-aligning the top, I had to add fluid (very easy), as well as replace the 30A fuse. There are two fuses that sit on top of the top's "command center." Not sure what the other fuse is for.

don't want to hijack, but have a quick question...

did you have to machine the weird nut on the drivers side down, so your top doesn't get hung up when manually putting it up/down? Also, I couldn't find a wrench slim enough to remove that dang nut. Any advice?

yes you need to grind that nut down...you can see if someone sells a slimmer wrench or grind it down

The reason you need two people to put up the top is because you have the nuts to tight on the side big bolts the one that i say to machine the nut down.just make it snug.Watch my video.
