    Does anyone know about the Top Gear segment that had the 308gt4 and Maserati Merak in a showdown for supercar status? I know there was a link on here some months ago but I have had no luck in finding it. This was a great show and I would like to see it again.

    That was season seven episode four of "Top Gear" on BBC2 which aired December 4th, 2005. You can go to the youtube website and query on "top gear ferrari" and you should find the segments. Alternatively, you could download a higher quality version of the show using a bit torrent client from a site like mininova.org. I think everyone who reads our forum would thoroughly enjoy watching all episodes of Top Gear. It's the best motoring show I've ever seen. The presenters are great and the show is extremely well produced.

    BTW, this is a useful reference for Top Gear episodes. There are other Ferrari episodes as well that all of us in this forum would enjoy like the Enzo/ Pink Floyd episode, the 430 review, the race with the 612, etc...

    I wish these guys would do a proper retrospective review of the 308 GTS. Unfortunately, I know they would hammer on the lower horse power. There was an episode where they had one in their studio and James May mentioned that everyone used to have a poster of the 308 on their wall when they were younger but they compared the HP output to a bunch of mundane modern cars that have the same HP if not more. <sigh> :)

    Thanks Paul, I'm still searching . I know this was on f-chat and thats how I viewed it so I reckon It has to be on here somewhere or someone knows how to get to it. I've never had that much luck with the search function, I'm sure it's purely operator error however.

    10k British pounds = $19k US dollars.
    So they did't have the best examples of each car, looked like 3 Ebay beaters to me.
    I would have loved to see the 3 cars in fully restored form, go through the same tests.

    The yellow Gt4 appeared on ebay about 8 weeks ago, it had another £5k spent on it, it sold for £10k with 1 bid
