Clarkson is a riot... "The F430 should have been called F430 Speciale.. needs."

Last Saturday I took out my F430 and floored it to the redline then shifted into second. I thought to myself: geez this car is insanely quick.

Then I saw this comparison to the 458. I couldn't believe it. How FAST is this machine? It seems insane!

He is all wrong. 458 is the prettiest Ferrari? I don't think so!

    Fast car? Yes! Pretty? Arguable

(+1) Though I will say that I did agree with him about the 308 design. I am, of course, partial to THE Challenge Stradale.

Ooh that was great! The Italia is just so amazing. How much further can Ferrari take road cars?

Compare this to Jeremy's review of the F430 and you'll discover he uses roughly the same terms to describe it as he now does the 458. I love the show but he loses some credibility in trashing the F430 after he previously raved about it to a similar extreme.

And it will be the same for the 458's successor.

He said prettiest to the 308. I think he has a point.

Yah... but... the proof is in the pudding. That car is quick. Being 1/10th a second slower around their track than an Enzo is very impressive. When they originally tested the Enzo, they thought nothing on the drawing boards at the time would beat it. Now, a luxury street car is almost there... with 150 less ponies.

    It's worth the praise.

Watched it twice. What a great machine.
If it's half as good looking in the flesh as it is in pictures, i may go into a depression because i cant buy one :)

Clarkson's praise needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Its not the cars fault, it's his. The next Ferrari he reviews will "destroy" the 458. He seems to think every one has no memory of the other top gear reviews. Granted he isn't anything more than a glorified talk show host (I like clarkson for the most part), he loses some credibility when he says the same things all of the time. This car's greatest attributes are its transmission and its electronics. That is why it is nearly as quick as the Enzo. The "Stradale" version with trimmed fat and sport tires will be an absolute terrorist on the track.

Of course he will be saying the same thing every time a new Ferrari comes out. If he isn't that means Ferrari have stopped progressing their designs.

The fact that he says the same things is a pat on the back for Ferrari.

If JC said DIFFERENT things about DIFFERENT cars it wouldn't mean the cars weren't getting better. It would just mean he was saying different things. JC does the same thing damn near every car review. His shtick is just stagnant. It works, its just stagnant. When he reviews the 599GTO he will power slide it across the screen and talk about the sound it makes, and then he will talk about how it eats the "standard" 599 alive. These things are all fine and good but, just a bit a predictable. I'm not expecting some grand poetic sonnet from him, just a little variety.

Man, guess a 360 isn't even worth owning! The 458 looks amazing. I'm not sure that even with planning I'll be getting one. 430 maybe, 458 I highly doubt.

I am really waiting for the "stradale" version of this car, yes it would be an absolute terrorist but not only on the track, on "normal" roads also!

Yeah really. We should scrap all previous models immediately.

I had to take an anti-depressant after watching that. Only kidding.

It is amazing that it is that much quicker than a 430. I could hardly believe the way the 458 left it in the dust.

I saw it at the debut at F of Ft Lauderdale and saw my first one on the street last weekend. It is impressive.

Very impressive, and I do not really think the reviews on top gear are anything more than entertainment, but it is fun to watch. I am not sure about the rest of you, but I do not get the chance to drive on many empty runways or tracks, and most of my driving these days is under 70 and if I have my way, with lots and lots of curves, so I do not think that makes either the 430 or the 360 unworthy.
