    With new series of top gear starts tomorrow and then mondays episode of fith gear should be good with a tour of Peter Saywell's collection. This is taken from the website....

    "We've also got privileged access to Britain's ultimate supercar collection. Fifth Gear viewer Peter Saywell, an aircraft parts supplier from Sussex, owns every significant supercar from the past 20 years, and has never opened his garages to public view before. Amongst other things he has not one but two £300,000 Koenigseggs, a Pagani Zonda F, a Ford GT, a Ferrari F40, a Lamborghini Murcielago, two Bentleys as everyday cars and a Porsche Carrera GT, which he admits to not having had the time to drive yet. There's well over a million pounds worth of cars - all belonging to one very lucky man."

    Should be worth a watch ?

    Thanks for the heads up. I cannot say that I have ever heard of Peter Saywell previously - so a good scoop for 5th Gear. Lets just hope they don't have that tw*t Tom Ford presenting... VBH please mmmmhhhh :D

    Top Gear drives me nuts! I know I should always remember that is supposed to be entertainment but the way they talk you would think everyone is sitting there with £35k+ to spend on their everyday car. Sales figures suggest that probably half that figure is most peoples budgets.
    Needless to say I will be watching on Sunday and the endless repeats too on UK People etc etc...

    I think you can only take Top Gear with a pinch of salt really, like when Clarkson destroyed that Maserati in the £10k supercar challenge, I would have guessed the average car buyer will spend around £17k

    Cant say i have heard of him before either but he must of done well for himself somehow!
    and completly agree about the vbh comments, have the video of her with the cs, one word......awesome.

    5th gear seem to of done well with the scoop along with the lottery winner - but i found him un interesting as i would of been like a kid in a candy shop walking around that p1 garage

    With the topgear arguement, personally i do enjoy it but i know many around dont. At the end of the day its good to have programs about cars on the tv.....beats some of the rubbish that they put on!

    It's more like £8,500 once you consider second hand, fifth gear did a feature on it last year.

    Vicki was refreshing and fun to watch about 2-3 years back. Her CS review is one of the best ever from Fifth Gear. But I find her real annoying now - she's got a grunting kinda laugh and makes those awful faces trying to look funny but falls way short of it. Basically she comes across like a 30 year old teenager - embarassing really.

    Jason Plato is really good - decent humor and can drive very well. Tiff is fantastic to watch when he gets on the track.

    Fifth Gear quality sucked big time in 2005 compared to Top Gear which had several amazing episodes:
    --> F430 v Pagani v Ford GT
    --> Winter Olympics special
    --> Carrera S v M6 v Aston GT

    Many, many more such episodes including the road trip ones where Clarkson has to drive somewhere and beat the time of Hammond and May who take alternative routes to get to the same destination. Fantastic stuff!!!

    I can't remember them doing that, I was refering to the new market, but yes I agree in that factor, I have never bought or never wll buy a new car, I just can't justify its depreciation (nor can I afford a new one)

    I think apart from the £10k supercar challenge, the F430 v Pagani v Ford GT had to be my favourite although a die hard ferrari fan that Pagani is awesome, I loved it in the car park in Paris

    Lots of new things in the 8th series of TG including:
    the 3 presenters building a Caterham from scratch, while their other halves attempt the same

    Hammond in a Cayenne Turbo S racing on the Cyprus rally course against some sky divers

    Race between the Peugeot 207 and some dude doing that supercool parkour thing

    Clarkson turning an old s-class into some sort of living room...:S

    British Rocketry Association turning a Reliant Robin into a space shuttle

    Jet-powered kayak against hammond in a 4x4

    the 3 presenters have to make amphibious cars

    they make a convertible people carrier..... the list goes on

    So more of the usual entertaining mayhem then, the Caterham sounds interesting
