When Top Gear left the Discovery Channel some months ago there was rumors here about it being revived in December by some members. What is the latest on this show coming back to Discovery channel? Anyone hear anything when it might be back on?

They need to just air the new episode of the real Top Gear here, like everyone else. I hate that Bruno guy that will be a host, he used to be on one of the failed Spike TV shows. It also sounds as if the other two have no car experience whatsoever..

I agree that this new format will most likely suck. I don't understand why you would take a show that has up to a billion viewers worldwide and then have the ego to change it.

Those *********s! By taking Jeremy, Richard, and James out of the mix they ruin the best part of the show: the personalities. I laugh constantly watching the British version because they have that fantastic British humor that is nonexistent here in the States. They insult and make fun of Americans in the true British show? So what??!! We deserve it most of the time and it's funny anyway. Plus, we're always ripping other nations so it's only fair. I'd rather watch the original version without any stupid concessions to American society thrown in.

My thing with the British show is, the American bashing is funny. It's only funny because being car guys, the majority of Americans that watch the show aren't "typical Americans," and we aren't fat and stupid like many others in this nation, so its funny to see those people get made fun of by funny Brits..

I actually think all the American jokes made by the TG guys are pretty good. It works the same way when I watch Chappelles Show and he makes white jokes, and I laugh pretty hard and Im white (a lot of the jokes on TG and Chappelle are true too, making them a little funnier)

Also-why hasnt finalgear been updated since Dec 11th? Is the Top Gear season over?

It's not over, my brother continues to download the new episodes each week.. The Veyron is a very good episode, and that is about a week old.

Great final episode. Loved the NSX playstation segment at the end. Yeah it looks like we may be getting our very own american top gear with american hosts and no guests and shot here in the states. They've done a pilot ep so far (even flew in the stig for it!) however I'm pretty sure I'll prefer the original still and I think its pretty certain this new one won't be as succesful. It'd be nice though to have a good american car show to watch every week because at the moment we don't really.

Im crushed. That show is so clever and witty. It is much more than just a show about cars. Jeremy, James and Richard are hilarious. I cant believe that they wont be showing the next season on the Discovery channel. Havent they leaned a lesson with the American version of Iron Chef? That too is nowhere near as good as the original.

In Canada, they play it on the BBC-Canada network (even had a marathon on boxing day). From the BBC-America site, it doesnt look like it's hosted on your end, but who knows... maybe in the near future.

If this rumored "American" version is anything like the American car magazines we have, then it will without a doubt be horrible. We'll get one segment about the good European cars, but in order to see that we'll have to sit through segment after segment of soporific minivan comparisons and test drives of the latest 4-door family sedans. I agree with previous statements that have been made; the British version is far more entertaining, and the jokes about us Americans are almost always true, which makes them hilarious.

Discovery channel sent me a basic form letter that said that they were reworking the show to be released sometime this year...but they told others that it would be in December so take that for what it is worth. If you miss the show go to http://video.google.com and look up topgear. They have alot of the shows there and they just uploaded the episode with the Bugatti Veyron (a must see).
