Want to report I have been battling a mouse that took house in my garage and that likes to sleep on the 458's warm engine at night (i find its turds on the engine ) had to empty all the furniture in the garage so hopefully it cant hide behind it and will not return.. ps tried poison but did not eat it.. will try mouse traps and sticky paper next hey at least the mouse has good taste in cars
Lol.. On a serious note, these darn things can do a good amount of damage if you plan on actually storing the car during Winter months ( not sure of your location). There are plenty of ways to deter them from actually getting into the car and doing damage.
What ways are these? Mousetraps or sticky paper? I am aware of the damage they can cause which is why I am battling it! The good thing is that I know where it was hiding and cleaned up and exposed its layer. Also I know if it is in the garage since I find its little black turds everywhere (yucky ). So far all is clean and so no mouse; keeping an eye open for the next days, heck will buy a cat if i have to lol
sticky paper waste of time imo. get a few traps and bait them with small chunks of a reese's peanut butter cup don't ask how i know.
Do not use poison. A poisoned animal will crawl away somewhere it prefers to hide in and then die there! You will then be able to locate it by the smell given off… but often too late, as you may not be able to extricate the smelly guy in some cases. If traps don't work I would just call an exterminator, a cheap and effective fix.
thx for the info guys! will keep you posted on the saga as it unfolds maybe i'll buy another 458 for the mouse in grigio scuro so it'll leave my rosso corsa one alone
A family of rodents took up house in my pick up and caused all kinds of havoc, including installing their nests in the heating system (smell was disgusting) and chewing through a taillight wire. The solution that worked was in fact the poison. They do go elsewhere to expire but there was not a whiff to be had.
My critter actually eats the olives that fall from my trees (lots are falling this year, a real pain but we put up with it because we love the trees), the garage was filled with half eaten olives amongst the little black turds (sorry for being so graphic ), so I reckon it doesn't eat the poison. Just finished cleaning the garage and all places where it could and did hide are exposed, if I see another turd or olive I'm callin' da exterminatorrrr PS Gotta love Fchat, some people post such entertaining and informative threads..
Just revving your 458 hard and you will probably burn the mouse. PS: Is not that bad die in a Ferrari, isn't?
Heard the mouse in the ferrari a few days ago so I went for a drive and it survived!! Probably jumped out of the car when it heard the engine lol
They love peanut butter, use it with a mousetrap! I've used poison before too but it's hard to predict where they will die. Mice chewed up by Boxster years ago and it took me a while to figure out what's wrong with my car until my mechanic found all my wirings to be chewed up. I think one of them died in the engine bay so there was the worse stench until we figured out what happened!
get some baby powder and make a ring around the car the next morning look for foot prints you will know what route there using to get to your car place traps there. also id put my car in something like this CarCapsule - The Original Car Bubble till there gone. good luck
ok guys the battle is on, let's see if topolino can resist the peanut butter cups the saga continues... will let you know if there is a body in the morning Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
in my garage I have several methods. first I place a sticky pad at each corner of all the garage doors . Then I buy poison traps that I place in various locations in the garage ( hidden) mostly .. then I also have bought some small electronic devices that I plug into a couple of wall outlets near the cars that is supposed to keep rodents away .. Seems to be effect .. I bought the plug in devices at a home depot and have about 4 of them in my garage.. I might also suggest checking the garage door to make sure it is sealed VERY good otherwise they will come in.. I hope this helps..
mouse traps with peanut butter always works for me. Also plug your exhaust pipes they will climb into them. Mothballs do not work.
Good luck in your hunt! I got 5 of them in my garage when I first moved in. The RatZappper baited with peanut butter got them: Amazon.com: Victor Electronic Rat Trap M240: Patio, Lawn & Garden
Thanks Larry, wow great setup I suspect Topolino was actually coming from under the garage's secondary door, it is now secured, let's see if the peanut butter cups will work !
