    I noticed my coolant tank is empty so I want to top it off. I had a slightly elevated heart rate until I checked the gearbox oil which is thankfully pristine!

    I see that I can pick up Shell Rotella ELC from my local WestMarine. Does anyone know if this is suitable for my car? I think it is but I want to be sure before trekking over there to get it.

    If you're losing coolant and have no obvious leaks, then it may be time for a coolant tank cap replacement. The seal goes bad after a while.

    Cheap fix.

    Kevin- Should work fine. Contains OATs for cavitation erosion protection of cylinder liners.

    It' not the "ultra" and it's not the "nitrite free" ... still OK? Seems like every search shows me something new! :-(

    Kevin- Yup, nothing wrong with nitrites anyway if you have wet cylinder liners. I use G05, which was just updated with nitrited HOATs for longer life.
