In So. Cal, almost year round. I enjoy hearing the mighty 355 engine growl and roar in all her glory. That's why you buy a spider.
i keep her top down all the time. If it is not nice enough to drive the Ferrari with the top down & hear the engine roar, then I drive my BMW. I will admit to driving the Ferrari in 42 degree sunny weather in the winter with the top down (leather jacket/heater on & it's all good!) just to satify my Ferrari addiction.
Only put the top up if I have to take a really long drive so I can cruise along with the radio and AC on. Otherwise, it's always open...
I have never had the top up since I got my Spider. I guess I should put it up now and then. I live in Florida, so the weather is great for the top down ride. I have had it for 2.5 months now.
always down in NNJ. It only goes up for the rain. which reminds me, I need a hat to ward off sunburn this year
Only drive it with the top down, if it looks like ran, I drive another car. I do put it up in the garage at the end of the drive just to keep the window and top from deep creases, maybe overkill but it only takes a second and I have always done that with all my convertibles.
Both my 400i cabriolet and my 348 spyder have not had their tops up since my ownership. What's the point of owning a convertable or spyer and not having the top down. That's the advantage of owning a large car barn where these cars can be stored under covers in heated and protected conditions. My 308gtsi has not had the targa top on in the 10 years we have owned it as well. Howard Musolf 1981 308gtsi 1982 400i cabriolet 1994 348 spyder
I can count on one hand the number of times the tops been up and I've had this car a long time. I exercise it now and then but it's just to make sure it still works.
