Niiiiice...Good color choice. Now get the hell out of the 550/575 forum and back to the 360 forum where you belong, interloper!...

    Just kidding. :) Welcome....

Fantastic choice - both the car and the color. Is it 6-sp or F1 shift?

    Kenny,

VERY NICE! Well done! I just love the look of the 360! If they had room for a wheelchair I would be hanging over on the 360 threads, not here. I prefer the shape and mid engine, but they just don't go well with w/c's. Soooo, in the long run I will get a 456 and just be glad I can get ANY F-car.

Best and enjoy in good health!

Beautiful car - congrats on the choice. I am currently going through the same process of trying to choose which one would be better for me.

Great car, Kenny, looks to be in great shape as well. Intriguing colour for a 360. Combined with stick shift, it must be a fairly rare machine.

Congratulations! Enjoy her in good health.

    Well said.

To help summarize on the original Q
360 = high rev power band
    550/575 = Deep down torque

Tell us more about what you're looking for and that might narrow it down.

I have the impression that more first time owners buy a 360 than a 575.

Stick is faster? Not sure I'm clear on that as changing gears is faster in the F1.
    Do you mean "road speed"?

OTOH, the manual transmission is far more engaging by requiring driver involvement.

Scott.Mac - Well, this is where it gets subjective. The people who hate the flappy paddles insist that it doesn't shift at times when they'd like, especially downshifting. This leads to missed shifts, which we all know means a lot of frustration for the drivers and slower times around the track.

Those that love F1 shifters probably say that's a bunch of hoo-ey.

I suppose the only way to settle the speed part of this debate is to run both a stick and an F1-equipped 575 around a track with drivers that prefer that setup and compare times.

On the other point, I think it has a lot to do with driver control and involvement. Even if I were to stipulate that a F1-shifter equipped 575 was faster than the manual config, I would still take a manual over an F1-shifter in a NY minute. For me, it simply has better feel and control and I like it so much more. The extra milisecond of speed is academic.
