    im confused. can you help. toro rosso looks like it would translate to red bull. but isnt there a red bull team also? please help. thanks.

    Torro Rosso is owned by Red Bull, which came into existance when Red Bull bought Minardi. They are considered to be a Red Bull junior team.

    It's Red Bull's "Jr. Team" so-to-speak. Ex-Minardi team bought by Red Bull's owner.

    It was a nod to the Italian origin of Minardi. So many fans of the team wanted them to retain the name Minardi somehow, but it wasn't to be. Thus we have a Swiss F1 team named Toro Rosso. Just another day in the logical world of F1.
