The best hotels are all in the downtown core - close to the action (and near my Ferrari gallery :-0 )

    The Four Seasons
    The Intercontinental
    The Park Hyatt
The Hazelton - lovely new 5 star boutique
The Windsor Arms - great boutique

Depending on who you take to the Pine Crest it could be a 5+ star night.

I would have to mention the Royal York on Front st. Its right next to Union station and its in the heart of downtown.

All the other hotels (Hyatt, 4Seasons) are all uptown and 15 min drive from the downtown core.

FWIW the new Hazelton Hotel has not been officially rated as 5 stars by the Mobil Travel Guide. Rather, the Hazelton is advertising itself as 5 stars. Toronto does not have any 5 star hotels as of yet, the closest are the Four Seasons and Park Hyatt (both 4 stars).

Anyways, the restaurant, One, inside the Hazelton Hotel is terrible. Service was slow, food lacked any taste, and all the furniture are hard pieces so it can get very noisy on a busy night.

On top of that, a number of their staff won the lottery, each ending up with a couple hundred grand. Sounds like quite a few are still working, though, perhaps, a bit de-motivated.

    Interesting comments....

Without turning this thread into a restaurant critics thread, I need to ask a question: Since when did we Torontonians develop a liking for this tasteless, bland, small portioned, expensive, crap food? It seems all these 'swanky' and 'hip' restaurants opening dowtown all look, taste and feel the same; Meh.

Where' the character? Where's the flavour?

What do you mean "we Torontonians"?

    Dude! You live in 905!

(FYI--the back of my helmet says "416 4EVA". You'll be seein' it at the track!)
