    Who's it gonna be boys?!

I am a Joe Pants supporter but I may throw my vote to the Smitherman camp last minute. Anything but that redneck Ford I say. Realistically I think this attitude is what makes Smitherman a close second and not the fact that he'd make a great mayor...he's just better choice than Ford :D

As much as I hate Miller and his broom...I wish he'd re-run :(

    Thoughts?

Guys,Guys,Guys. Voting for Ford is a win win. Starting off it's a protest vote and Alot of the things he says make sense.
You liked Miller? No body ever got shot downtown in broad daylight before he was elected.
Wasn't Smitherman the financial wiz that oversaw the BILLION Dollar fraud of the Ontario health care misfunding? BILLION dollars just,...evapourated.
Yeah, vote for that BULLQUEER Smitherman. You'll pay for it in so many ways.

    You guys have been brainwashed.

Smitherman is a waste of time. He screwed up at the provincial level so now he drops a league into the municipal level. The guy is practicing the same old politics that everyone is feed up with only he thinks its still going on. Ford on the other hand has been practicing what he has been preaching for a long time now. 2 years ago he and Holiday were getting out there and banging the drums of overspending in the offices. Guess who they investigated? Yep, Holiday and Ford because they wernt spending enough. The socialists have been running Toronto for much to long now and are destroying this City. Ford says what most of us are thinking but are afraid to say. If everyone really knew what was going on behind the scenes in Toronto politics, they would be appauled. Toronto has more tax money per capita coming in now than ever before and thats taking into acct inflation. We have also been in a boom in Toronto for 10 straight years and yet they are spending more than they take in. Where will Toronto be when things get bad?
Yes its time for a REAL change and not just talk. Besides Toronto dosnt need a queer for their leader.

    here's my prediction -

whoever wins - Taxes will still go up after 2013

there is a new law toronto is seeking - two car maximum per home, the others will be taxed on a yearly rate for $80 per car . Not sure how they plan to do this , but if you have 5 cars , you will be paying an extra tax for the other 3 you own ,,,,, even if you have kids, an 4 drivers, and 4 cars, there will be a tax on the two cars.

Vasco, I know you to be too smart to be conned by the likes of Smitherman. Get the WHOLE story. Ever notice that the right of centre people are always portrayed as the Scary Boogey man? What are they afraid of? That we actually have to work for a living? That the promises/programs of Politicians past have costs attached and we had better start reigning in the likes of Carolyn Parish and others? I'll take a chance on anyone who comes out of the gate making sense like Ford does.

Vote against him and you'll get what you deserve. (more of the same).

    All the best

Ford's constituents are very happy with the work he has done for them. He lacks the filter between his mouth and brain that most of us have but I doubt he's half as bad as the media portrays him. If you don't want anything to change at city hall, vote Smitherman. If you want change, vote for Ford. I think it's that simple.

This is why the lefties are so excited from the Toronto star to the socialists NDPers in council. They cant stand being hauled away from the trough. You can see how desperate they are when they all choose to gang up on Ford. The last time they got so desperate was when Bob Rae was on the way out in 95. They are shaking in their boots at the thought of someone like Ford being elected. Someone who will stop the run away spending much of which just happens to go into the socialists and friends pockets.
Race is on in 30 minutes. Hope I can stay awake.

Well it was a long race and I managed to stay awake through it all. Picked up the Sunday Sun already and I think Sue-ann Levy must be reading here as she has a whole page(6) on Smitherman not changing his spots. Come on people, you cant be for real voting for this idiot Smitherman. And get a good look at all the Federal and Provincial politicians trying to prop this guy up. My god it looks like the world is going to come to an end if FORD wins and in some ways it might. Pulling them away from the trough will surely cause some pain as some of them have grown roots there. Oh and look, its no surprise that even the gays, Sewel and Barbara Hall are backing Smitherman. Those of you who are thinking of casting your vote for Smitherman had better take a long hard look and think what kind of city Toronto will be with him at the Helm and why some of these troughers are backing him at the last second.

I thought the law was for NEW homes built in Toronto a one car garage could have 2 cars, 1 in the driveway and 1 in the garage and for a 2 car garages 4 cars could be there. One car must be in the garage and one outside for each garage.

Both Ford and Smitherman said they would repeal this.

Please vote for Joey Pants, one less vote for Smitherman is a vote for Ford.
The last debate showed Slitherman's true colours. An angry self centered man who's only way of deflecting criticism is making jabs at Joes height and Robs weight. He is a fallen prima donna Federal politician who is only going to continue Miller's back room dealings, non disclosure leftist policies.
Ford will make many mistakes, say allot of stupid stuff but he is the protest vote as was mentioned.

If anyone thinks that Miller has done a responsible job running this city, they either don't live here or are blinded by their leftist red sunglasses they wear.

And I agree that taxes will go up. Even when they go down they somehow go up.

Even if "Ford" wins, he still has to propose to council, which will get vetoed - sme may have very unrealistic expectations .... this is no different than the US - so deparate for change from Obama and 2 yrs later - they are almost worse off.

you have to keep in mind, "ford" will not have as much power as you think ... and the new face of toronto is very much minority drvien ... ttc, garbage, hydro, all kinds of Union contracts he will not be able to bust, or change.... there will be alot of strikes near the end of his 4 yr deal - or he will cave like giambroknee and take a 15K french class ....

sorry to bust bubbles, but i see a dead man walking if and when ford wins.

What I see in your post is a quiter much like many Canadians who throw in the towel. This is what got us into this type of mess. Changes are a comin like it or not.
Once elected, Ford will have many councilors coming to his side because they too can see changes in the wind. Lard ass Bussin in the beaches riding will be a show and tell to many concilors, get in line or we vote you out. But of course if the Beaches were full of voters with your way of thinking then Bussin will win again and we will have much of the same crap untill Toronto goes broke which is not that far away.

I agree a change is needed in Toronto and Vaughan, but unlike Federal and Provincial governments where the leader has total control of their party,A city Mayor has only one vote on issues, so it is important to vote out all the useless councilors as well!

the Toronto Mayor is the boss. He can effect change. Make no mistake T.O. is a big economy and the Gov. doesn't like power to the people. Vote Ford and tell your friends to do the same. Then collectively we must tell him not to let us down.

    Ford = overpromise and underdeliver
Smith* = More of the same.

its really a matter of who will be worse and vote for the other one.

Ford may be over promising and he may not deliver everything but the point as I see it is this city needs a good kick in the balls! And that's exactly what Ford will do.

Either way we will know shortly if we are going down the same old path of striving for mediocrity and no backbone politicians or at least the font hope for some change.

All I know is if Ford doesn't win or if Ford does win and can't stop the "revitalization" of Lawrence heights I'm moving.
