What is the torque for 328 wheels? I bought some tires at a non-Ferrari tire business, and before mounting them, the manager wants to see in print what the torque should be. The only thing I can find in the owners manual is for installing the space-saver spare. The manual says to use 10kg (22 lbs).

(Oddly, in the circumstances where most people would be installing the spare, most people probably would not have something for measuring torque.)

Hi David - - there are a few threads addressing this question. I read that 72 lbs is factory recommendation but most everybody agrees that a bit higher is better.

Click the search feature (top left), type your "issue" - - lots of info:)

    Cheers,

You have the used wrong conversion factor, 1kg-m=7.233 ft-lbs. So 10 Kg-m = 72Ft-lb. As Hank Sound has said, most people use slightly higher torque for the lug bolts 75-80ft-lb seems to work pretty well.

I posted a reply to this question yesterday with a link to the technical manual in which it gives the spec as 10/72.

Assumie this must have been removed by a mod (who knows why?)

Google for "328 technical manual" & it should turn up, PM me if you can't find it (ISTR page 49 of the PDF).

It wasn't removed. The OP (wrongly ;)) put the same thread in the Technical and the 308/328 sections -- your post is in the other thread.

In either case, I printed out a (standalone) page and took it down to the business and got the tires installed with 72 foot/lbs of torque. They would not go higher based on the discussion in FChat.

It turns out, the correct unit of measure is also in the technical bulletin. So, of the four documents I have acquired in addition to my owners manual--electrical wiring diagrams, shop manual, parts list, and tech bulletins, the latter was the most important.

    Thanks to all.
