Anyone got the torque settings for the following on a 348 engine Crankshaft pulley bolt Camshaft cap nut Cam box nut thanks Steve
I don't understand your terms I think you mean: off top of my head not verified: 150ftlb crank nut 36mm 70ftlb cam cog nut 8 ftlbs valve cover nut
Thanks, the crankshaft pulley bolt is one that I was after as was the valve/camshaft cover nut. The other one wasn't the cam pulley/cog nut, what I was after is the torque for the nuts that hold down the camshaft retaining caps.
ah...try 10ft lbs but remember t wrenchs are notoriously 15% off so your most accurate in the middle of its range. 10 is likely to be at an extreme and most likely not accurate. I'd go to 10 then if it felt like I could do a bit more with the force of my palm on a ratchet head I go for it. That is not scientific but I have been at this for a long time. Otherwise get a proper t wrench
Is 10lbft the actual factory setting or are you just suggesting that ?? I have a proper torque wrench that has been calibrated recently, I know how to tighten nuts and bolts, I've been doing for the last 30 years
