Gentlemen, its been amusing to hear all of the chat about the coming demise of the beloved F12, i am here to report that the Emperor has no clothes.

Some of you may know that i just took delivery of my 2016 F 12, a few weeks ago.

I was curious as to why such an in demand, waiting list car, that has consistantly garnered 5 star reviews by the worldwide automotive press would be discontinued.

According to my dealer, a prominent dealership in the NYC region, Ferrari is just scaling back fulfilling orders, due to production constraints around the V12. It seems that there has been a great demand for GTC4 Lusso's and there have been undue delays to maintain the absolute quality builds, of the F 12 engines. I understand that only a few individuals at the factory are even allowed to build these limited production engines.

The TDF, a track car is here as an alternative, but it seems that a full replacement will most likely be the 6 or 7 year range that they have shown in the past, with a new model delivering in 2019.

That being said, I absolutely love this car and can't see ever letting her go, at any point. I plan to buy a second, perhaps a 488 Spyder, down the line, but after a few short weeks I can report that this vehicle is nothing short of amazing. I wouldn't worry about what the next evolution emerges, this is clearly a modern classic, that will be in the million dollar range in 20 years. Sadly I may be afraid to park it then...

If your US dealer refuses your order PM me and I will introduce you to my favorite dealer, He can get you one, but you may wait 8-10 months for your car to arrive.

F12B orders are over. I appreciate your dealer's sales person's optimism.

Time will tell but I think you are misinterpreting some things.

Firstly, they always will come up with new models, ideally before they are out of date, this way they keep ahead of the market place.

Secondly, I think we're talking semantics. Literally speaking the information I have says the F12b as we know it will be ending. But, what replaces it will be a "M" version (for "modificata"). Very much along the lines of the GTC4 Lusso "replacing" the FF. You can think of it as a refresh of the model but it likely will be more than just a refresh. There will be new mechanical things to drool over. I don't want to say specifics except to confirm some of what has been reported in other threads. You're going to see a car that is even better than the F12- at least mechanically. In terms of styling thats an open question that we will see.

I know you just got your F12, I even have one coming so I shall be joining you soon, but don't fool yourself. There will be an "M" version. Don't believe me? Wait until mid March next year and then lets talk.

Sorry, I don't want to be appear rude, but rubbish-there is an 'M' upcoming shortly with an all new model around 2020. I am afraid that the F12b will very shortly be no more.

I think the title of your thread is somewhat over confident to put it mildly, and given the vast knowledge and contacts on this forum, a little more research wouldn't go amiss!

I just recently got my 2014 F12 with low miles and have been enjoying tremendously. Certainly, the hope is that F12b continues but that does not seem to be in the card if history is reviewed. Once Ferrari comes out with a special version of a car it signals the end of that version. It would not make sense for them to come out with TDF version and then continue to produce the old version. Lets see how much better the new model is and how much more expensive. Only time will tell. In the mean time lets just enjoy our cars.

Traveller is 100% spot on. The disinformation is sometimes deafening, but certain people here clearly know what is and what is not :)

BTW, I just received my Grigio Ferro 2016 F12 2 days ago, and the interior couio/black two-tone (with mirrored sticking!) is beyond awesome. Pics soon.

Yes please to pics on the appropriate thread. Should be a the perfect combination.

Sad that dealers are so divorced from the factory and indeed the product and its history that they can spout such nonsense unaware that many punters respecting their seemingly better informed position and not knowing better, will take what they say as gospel. I suppose to most of them it is just a job whereas to most of us it is a passion.

    Someone please explain Millers Garage?

I am also here to report the Emperor will shortly be fully dressed as a 6.5litre, 800hp, AWS monster.

Miller Motor Car is an outstanding Ferrari dealer. The sales people at any dealer don't necessary know what's going on. The US dealers work through a chain of command. Ferrari North Amecica...not the factory direct. I am not sure if this is the same arrangement in the UK and other euro countries or not. Sales people will be sales people.

That's right. The picture looks like it was taken in the service area of Miller Motorcars. They are a great dealer. As to the rest, its all speculation but yes, information generally comes from Ferrari SpA (or whatever it is now- is it NV?) -> FNA-> Dealers. What happens inside this chain... I can only speculate..

I am afraid you appear to hold this forum somewhat in low esteem and clearly are unaware of just how close to the factory these 'enthusiasts' are. This is not a rumour forum and so often is way ahead of anything anyone in the dealer network knows.

Thankfully time will tell and good luck with further f12b allocation which even my major UK dealer is unable to provide.

"The Ferrari F12berlinetta has been out for just four short years, but if you wanted one and didn't get your order in yet, you're out of luck. Ferrari has reportedly instructed dealers to stop taking orders for the V12 two-seater in preparation for a replacement model."

    Ferrari F12 Replacement - F12berlinetta Update

as i previously indicated, the f12tdf will be the last car to wear the f12 badge. the next thing (which many currently are calling an f12m), will be called something else.

That is correct as explained on other threads. Think FF to Lusso, F12b to.......? Similar evolution.

Every sales person is an individual with varying levels of knowledge. As Traveller mentioned, to some it's just a 9-5 job selling high end products while others are immersed in the passion. I'm so looking forward to the f12b.

What is interesting is that Ferrari has told dealers, apparently, not to take orders for the Berlinetta, but has not provided a replacement for them to sell. So are the dealerships meant to be selling no V12s besides the GTC4 Lusso for the next period of time?

It seems odd to me that Ferrari would create a hole in their order book of any significant duration. If they have indeed stopped further Berlinetta orders, one would think they'd need to provide a replacement, pronto.

I certainly wouldn't do that unless I knew that I'd be announcing a new model shortly. It's been more than a month since that email already.

No hole....forward orders are still there until the point the assembly line needs to be re-tooled for the replacement.......but no new orders. Trust me, they know what they are doing!
