I think you are forgetting that they have 799 tdfs to pump out and fill the gap before the 'M' arrives so that, coupled with the Lusso will keep them very busy and right now they probably don't want to sell any more V12 cars as they couldn't build them.

Thought the same about the whole but actually there is no whole. Dealer told me to sign a pre-order for the F12M, so I dont have to wait that long :)

Hopefully that brings this aptly titled 'Total BS' thread to an end and next time I would suggest JMJ might show a tad more humility in his confident announcements and appreciate amongst these 'enthusiasts' lurk some very well informed sources, who unlike his dealer, do not deal in unfounded rumour.

I am sorry, I am not quite sure why this got me so riled, I think it was the you guys know nothing, I am the real keeper of the truth attitude, until thankfully MM nailed it.

Not really. It says they stopped taking F12 orders. It says nothing about the what, when or how of any replacement

Of course it doesn't! That is down to common sense and we have a very good idea what is upcoming based on excellent sources and the standard model plan. What we know beyond peradventure is that the F12b is dead in contradiction to what JMJ and his dealer claimed. That obviously frees a gap up for the F12M which will be called something else and is due out Paris or Geneva and we know will have around 800hp etc etc.

Probably because the thread title is so emphatic.

I think the F12M is going to be interesting, wonder if the 4WS from the TDF will be carried over.

    6.5 800hp 4WS...

That thing will probably outperform the Tdf....

In a straight line, maybe just, but it's only circa 30hp, probably not as aggressive gearing and 100kg more.

Why am I now prolonging the life of this annoying thread!?

I was at the factory today. The upstairs v12 production line was almost all F12's and only a few TDF's and one GTC Lusso were on the over 40 stations of the production line. Ferrari only makes 6 v12 engines a day and seems to have a large backlog of F12's, TDF's and demand for the new GTC Lusso. It could be a while before we see the F12 replacement announced, does anyone know for sure?

I guess that could make sense if they managed to sell all of the TDFs in a mere fraction of the time it takes them to sell a year's worth of Berlinettas and if the TDF did not cannibalize Berlinetta sales substantially. In any case I will be promptly hocking my dealer about an M and I imagine I'm not alone...

Agreed. Ferrari can also make the M exceed the tdf in lap times as it is only 7HP less of the advantage the tdf has over the berlinetta. Likely the same familiar F12 underpinnings as well given a refresh design. However, they must place the lap times over the tdf and under the 488 as the flagship while respecting the LE quality of the tdf. But the tdf is toast when the track oriented version comes out which is the normal course of events - and there's no big screen TV in the tdf which is nice.

Now I've prolonged it! At least we are not debating the turbo or hybrid certainty to the M due to some goofy environmental argument. Two words we all know as truth: Size Matters.

At least the known specs of the M version is great to those who are eager to buy TDFs but haven't been allocated.

I think the tdf will be as the Speciale was to the 458. Revered for its purity of purpose. The F12m will no doubt be spectacular but aimed at a wider audience and take much design principle from the Lusso. ie 46 inch TV, cup holders and 4ws. Opinion only I would like to assure.

    CARS!!!!

Lets see who can enjoy their F12 the most (miles) from now till whenever the update is released. I shipped my car from Europe to the West Coast about 5 weeks ago. Should be arriving in LA any day now. I opted for the "unlimited miles" with my insurance company. Just enjoy your cars gentlemen and don't worry about replacements.

To those buyers out there still contemplating a purchase...no two buyers have the same concerns. Each of you need to make your own choice.

6 V12 engines a day seems to be far to low.

Told to me yesterday while on the factory floor watching them build the V12's. Ferrari builds 6 V12's and 18 V8's a day.
