So my car was running hot and slow down light was always on. I took to mechanic and after lots of scoping they found that the cats had been replaced and the old honeycomb parts were in the muffler. Cylinder 2 on the header was also shot. Long story short i need new headers, cats, ecu, and exhaust. Total bill looking around 9k installed. I had tubi and now he is recommending ferrari headers and challenge exhaust. I trust and like this mechanic. With that said, any thoughts would be appreciated.

I don't get why you would need the ECU, except that it is sold with the challenge exhaust (which would be a good direction to go from feedback here). You could really go any direction you wanted to - fabspeed, capristo or stock headers, stock used or new cats or any variety of sport cats, and then any exhaust back box. $9k seems like a lot, but I guess it all adds up (especially with new parts)... If you were crafty, you could probably do it for half that by finding some 2nd hand parts, and some aftermarket headers that you could ceramic coat.

Headers are around 1,100 each (these are used taken of a '99 360 w 1600 miles)
    Challenge exhaust is 3,800
    Ecu 380 each i think
1,600 for labor-includes all work done to find issue.

Couple of other little things make total 8,800

I see this one does not include the cats-the $3,800 includes 2 new cats as well-does that make the price more reasonable?

I see you're in FL. Ebay link above is from ferrari tampa bay.

My setup..test pipes with cs exhaust $3400 installed. OEM cats are really expensive so are the headers if new
