I've got this scheduled for next month: shocks, ball joints, the whole works. Does any one place sell everything needed for this job? And what do you all think about ditching the pneumatic (self-leveling) shocks for standard (and cheaper) shocks.

Whew! Thats going to be an expensive venture.
But you're smart for getting it done. 400's eat front end parts due to the weight.

The b-joints, suspen bushings, etc. aren't too hard to find. The usual Ferrari parts sources should have them.

There are a couple of threads about self leveling shocks and replacing them. Do a search.

I replaced the "prone to a constant nose up" rear suspension with a Koni coil over with ride height adjustment. I am using eibach springs and the ride is 100% better then stock. The self leveling concept was an idea at the time, one best replaced. My conversion cost $380 a wheel. I also left the original coil over shock in place.

good luck with the front end work.

Mechanic says car will ride like a Cadallic when finished. Interesting analogy. Thanks for this input. I'll show it to him and keep you all posted as to cost and whatever snags crop up along the way.

Can you provide specifics on the shocks and springs you used? Any photos?

    Thanks,
    Al

Of course. We've not done it yet, so I don't know what he'll use. When I know, you'll know.
