Totally dead instrument panel, happened only twice

Has anyone had a dead instrument panel from starting off? Happened only twice and comes back to life on the next drive, but can’t seem to immediately restart and solve it. Both times it has been every gauge including speedo and taco and the four smaller gauges, clock and the parking brake light. Drives perfectly fine so doesn’t affect ignition or lights or indicator function (indicator internal lights flash). After five minutes standing just now all mysteriously came back to life on restarting!

Not sure where to check the electrics for this, presumably not a fuse as intermittent.

Ah Alden, thanks! That’s almost certainly it then, was looking for the common denominator in this. Appreciate it greatly am off now to follow that lead (lol)..

 

Thanks again Alden. You were absolutely right. It got worse and even though the fuse looked absolutely fine, the socket was corroded. I also cleaned up the two connectors near the instrument panel LHS after studying the wiring diagram. Even the clock stays correctly on the time now! Anyway, just to say thank you and learnt something’s too!
